I'm kind of really looking forward to going in to TRU and seeing the giant G.I. Joe display instead of the Transformers one. I don't know if I want to see it badly enough to wait another 12 days to see the actual toys though. LOL.

For those wondering about the TRU exclusive the item # is 627766 and they are under GIJ Movie Basic Figure. It's a 12pc carton and are split evenly between BBQ and Firefly.

TRU is actually turning out to be rather cool with collectors.
They're continuing the Battlestar Galactica Minimates, which no other store would carry. They're getting exclusive Minimates across numerous lines. They've teamed up with Diamond to share some exclusive items, like the 2nd wave of Marvel Legends 2packs. These packs would likely not have been carried by any other retailer. They're carrying all kinds of Diamond Select Star Trek product. Stuff you can't find anywhere other than specialty stores, if they even order it. They carry numerous exclusive Star Wars items. They carry numerous exlusive GI Joe product, like Battle Packs, which no other retailer is offering. They're carrying exclusive Marvel Universe 3packs, like the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends pack. They carry all kinds of direct market lines, like Neca's Street Fighter, Terminator 2, and Aliens product. Yeah...let's throw poop at the company that is actively trying to cater to collectors just because a few employees don't immediately know if they'll break the original street date for the ROC stuff. Nothing like having a little perspective. |

just wanted to add my two cents the toys r us in montebello across from the montebello town center is selling the night raven as of yesterday and some really dumb sound fx duke and snake eyes tough troopers for 22.99 and the raven for 39.99 item #429069 for the raven and yes that number is from the isle scanner. i witnessed a dad and his son buy one today wit no questions asked. as for me the whole airgun gimmick was enough for me to say hell no for 40 bucks, plus it's smaller then ya think. so it looks like at least some stores are selling some ROC product before the street date. and no i did not see any single carded figs yet. the fig that comes wit the raven is pretty cool in person but i aint no swaper so i did not chose to buy it just for the fig alone. for you who live in so cal you should know where to go tomarrow if ya want one. yesterday they had 4 as of 10 min before closing today they had 2. sorry for posting this soo late but i just got home. good luck.

I've also never had trouble finding any of TRU's exclusives. Wal-Mart's exclusives on the other hand, are usually only in about half of their stores to begin with, and impossible to find unless you're able to be at the store at opening every single day, because scalpers buy them up with a quickness. I dunno which TRU employee pissed in your cornflakes or if you're an employee of Wal-Mart, but if you don't understand why Wal-Mart having complete control over the toy industry would be a Very Bad Thing (tm) then there's not much more to be said. |

Will the Rise of Cobra toys be released on July 4th ONLY at TRU, or will they also be at Wal-Mart and Target on that date?

At this point, we don't know for sure if they're going to be anywhere or everywhere this weekend.
Best advice is that it can't hurt to look, but "official" word has been impossible to find. Some people have already bought RoC stuff at Target, though. Meanwhile other people are saying their local stores (Mostly TRUs) are telling them that the stuff still won't be out until the 10th/11th. But we've got other reports countering this one too, so...make of it what you will. If TRU is out of the way for you, it might be best to try to call ahead. So basically...don't be too disappointed if you can't find anything this weekend. |
