There's obviously a lot of stuff going on in the federal and private intelligence community that's out of the public eye, but a lot of it is pretty mundane stuff relative to the stuff that gets a lot of pub, according to [unnamed source]. A lot of it involves keeping up with trends in international finances, diplomacy, and liasing with foreign governments, all while keeping the administrative and bureaucratic stuff from piling up. A lot of duties that we don't normally associate with the media's depiction of "spy-centric" intelligence but are probably just as, if not more, important than the cloak-and-dagger ISA, SAD, and SOG stuff.

Here's my take on "GI" Joe Colton:
design notes: - in keepng with my decision to not keep the Joes "time-locked" in their appearance, I tried to maintain a sense of vagueness around his costume/uniform. The tiger-stripe camo suggests that he might have been an SF operator during the Vietnam War, although I deliberately gave him an Afghani pakol hat to give him a more contemporary feel (there are reports that some SF operators and SEALs in Afghanistan are using vintage or commercial recreations of the 1970s tiger-stripe BDUs as non-issue items and wearing them in combination with local rural fashions. His weapon, as well, is a modern kitted-out M4, to further bring him into the present. - As for his filecard, I've tried to make him Hawk's "senior" in terms of service time incurred and experience, but have taken him out of the chain-of-command (so as to cut down on the confusion) by making him a retired general working as an SES-graded attaché assigned to the team. To read his filecard in full, click on the "Filecard Project" link in my signature. |

Like the looks of him. Who's face is that? I know it but can't place it.

A slightly tweaked Sean Connery.

That's what I thought but it kept making me think of Rip Torn in Men in Black.

Zulu, glad to see that you finally decided to do Colton. I love his file card. Hama himself couldn't have done better. Pic looks great. Do you have any plans to supplement the file cards with additional bios about their service history, promotions, medals and achievements, operations and maybe personal anecdotes?

Zulu I'm liking Colton a lot. I wasn't so sure about the pakol at first, but it feels so right.

I love it. I really like the chronological ambiguity of it as well.

I just recently noticed that the file card says that Clutch not only went to Ranger school, but Covert Ops school as well......and Executive Bodyguard school as well... seems Clutch is a bad hombre...
