what if we are all wrong and the movie pulls a Transformers on us? i personally like most of what i see from the movie stuff. just be happy with some of the good stuff we're getting and hope that something good will come of it. i hope that joe makes a return in a big way but for that to happen we need to see some change.

I have not seen a SINGLE thing from the previews that I will like this movie. none. not SE, not SS, not destro, not the vehicles. the toy line isn't showing any promises either. I thought Hasbro held back NEW items to spend the budget on the movie line, yet all we are seeing is repainted VvV stuff and a few misc stuff not even figure related. |

I really like the gray-shirt ROC Airborne, it kinda has that 1990 Sky Patrol homage. The neon green on the ROC Eels can be easily fixed with a sharpie marker and would look at home on my True Heroes Navy Assault Boat. ROC Desert fatigue Duke looks a lot better than the ARAH Battle Corp Duke. Both versions of ROC Storm-Shadow would look pretty good as bodyguards for CC. I plan on picking up at least one Night Bird and two of the Pitt. Overall, I'll probably be picking up at least 1/3rd of the ROC line, because some of the figures in the ROC line are 25th repaints. The ROC Para-Viper was a fix on a major complaint for most people. And I'm really happy to see the DTC R.H.I.N.O. released at retail, even if I don't care much for the new color scheme. (But at least it's not neon.)

For those of you who are bagging on the Rise Of Cobra toys, I have one thing to say. "Please buy them anyway." At least the ones you think are cool enough, or look like vintage counterparts, or figures unrelated to the movie (like the Night Force and Resolute figures that will be released on ROC cards). Our dollars make a statement to Hasbro.
Hasbro stated in the most recent Q&A, the success of the ROC line will determine if the 25th and Resolute figures will have a shot at continuing and how strong they continue. I can't afford a Pitt, but if I could, I'd get one for my son to play with and also so I could support the line so things like a new Flagg can be built. Think about this, for those who say they'd pay $250 for a Resolute Flagg, just buy the Pitt for $100 to support the line so you can get a Flagg in the future which will probably be around $150 anyway. I seriously doubt Hasbro will EVER make any toy that cost more than $150 until inflation pushes that limit. You are still going to pay about the same, AND you are almost ensuring that you will get what you want in the future. Just trade me the Hawk figure because I want it. I know MANY of you are, first of all, upset at the new look of the GIJOE movie, and second of all, ticked off at the look of the toys associated with that look, but think of this, we now have a new medium for GIJOE that could bring in a whole new generation of collectors who can help us get what we want in the "25th" line, as well as more people to collect with regarding vintage Joes. I really do hope the movie does decently well (regardless if i like it or not) so Joe collecting can hit a whole new level. i have no interest in RoC anything and I will NOT pay to watch the movie i read a script and that was all i needed to make my decision no amount of cgi and explosions will change the look or story Hasblow has gone with

I can't justify buying things just to support a line.
If Hasbro chooses to run GIJOE into the ground, that's their choice. I hate it, but I'm not going to just accept anything. I didn't buy much JvC, SpyTroops, VvV or Sigma Six stuff, either, though I have bought the hell out of the 25th/Modern line. As it is, I do plan to pick up a growing number of movie items: Night Raven Black COBRA Humvee Crimson Hydra (maybe) 2 Sting Raiders Eel and sled (maybe) Mole Pod Baroness TRU Firefly Several of the grey/red Para-Vipers if readily available Ice Viper (maybe a few) MARS Troopers (maybe) They've got me with anything Resolute, too. I don't know if this qualifies for "supporting the line" but this is how I shop. |

I will be buying some of the movie toys. But all I want from the vehicles are the drivers.
The vipers are cool looking. But they aren't part of Cobra. They are all part of Cobra-La. This movie is going to be big. |

There's an absolute ton of stuff coming out for RoC that I'll be getting, but I'm not going after the movie figures, sve for a couple of SEs. The rest will only be what I can use in my regular collection, or at least argue belongs there.
