So here we go.
Surrounded the airstrip so can get an idea of what the "arm" will end up looking like. Can't see the end of it in this pic, but the stuff that surrounds in (gravel strip, access road, "no-man's land" wraps around the end. So that little box in the middle.. that's the jailhouse. That little box is 100' x 100'. I don't see the need for a bigger prison then that. You can fit alot of 10x10 cells in that footprint depending on how many floors I go above and below ground. I don't want to make a straight road to it, but don't want to put too many zigs and zags in the road. For security and someone making a break for it, it's nice to have the zigs and zags, but it's a pain in the ass for the guys that have to go there every day. The jailhouse is 3880' away from the nearest wall of the main building. I'd hate to have to be the one that leads the assault on this place, lol.

Looks nice. If you're handy with Photoshop, you can make satellite images out of that thing to make it look like the pics were taken using a real-world sat-map service like GoogleEarth or Yahoo! Maps.
Alternatively, the prisoners could be housed off-site and somewhere else... less of a security risk that way. Maybe they're housed offshore like the supervillains in Marvel Comics being kept in The Vault (that'd be a good use for the Tactical Battle Platform or whatever that playset was called). |

If you figure that Joe captures Cobras in 75% of the battles, that's alot of prisoners. They'd need a good sized facility to handle that. So that won't exist inside the compound, that'll be a seperate compound somewhere else. Kind of like how the Naval Facility (which I'll do up someday, along with arctic base, desert base and Tiger Force base) is a seperate building. So "The Coffin" in the compound is for temporary holding of prisoners, holding important ones (wouldn't want to hold Destro in the same area as the others, would want to keep a close eye on him), etc..

Three new images and filecards (click on the pictures to view the filecards):
notes: - I sort of combined Hawk v1 and v2 in this design. Never was a fan of his later General Patton-inspired look (why would a non-aviator Army officer wear a bomber jacket?) but I didn't like the blonde hair on the original figure (which led to all sorts of confusion back in the day... a lot of kids who jumped into the comics after discovering the GI Joe cartoons had a hard time distinguishing between Hawk and Duke). - Airborne has been redesigned slightly and updated as an enlisted "Night Stalker" (Special Operations Aviation) crew chief. Dropped the whole lawyer bit in his filecard (just doesn't make sense that a state bar-qualified lawyer would go enlisted instead of getting a direct commission) and instead gave him a Justice Studies bachelor's degree from Arizona State. - Taking a cue from the responses I've read in this thread, I've redesigned Blowtorch as the team's armament maintenance NCO who just happens to be a master welder and steel worker on the side. Airborne's cool, nice update on one of my favorites. That helmet looks like it's heavy to wear.
Hawk looks a little bland. I never understood the bomber jacket either, but it did look cool. Hawk was an artilleryman before becoming a General. Is there something can bring from that background to jazz him up a bit? I like the update on Blowtorch. School in Tulsa? He went from Florida to Oklahoma to attend welding school? That man is dedicated, lol.

Now that is a much better use for Blowtorch. I like this new Hawk image as well. Both were good. Although Sam Neil was hard to see as Hawk since he has that accent and a recognizable face. Although seeing Dennis Quaid as Hawk is going to be hard to swallow at first. Airborne looks good as a Crew Chief guy. It seem to fit his character all along. There is no such thing as a Helicopter assault Specialist is there? To me that always made him seem more tied to the aircraft than falling out of it. He goes where it goes.

I actually used Robert Redford's face as the base for Hawk's. Re-drew a few wrinkles, re-coloured his hair, and replaced that fancy bouffant hairdo he always favours (that makes him look like an old lesbian professor from certain angles ) with a more practical haircut. Nice job on the updated Airborne. He makes more sense as a door gunner than a "front seater". Given that he's from the 160th SOAR, I think it'd be logical to make Wild Bill & Lift Ticket Night Stalkers, as well.
