EDIT - This is stolen from my girlfriend's blog.
According to Variety, the original 1986 Highlander movie starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown is set to be remade by Summit Entertainment, who hope to kick start a new series of big budget Highlander movies. "I have always dreamed of reinventing this franchise," said Patrick Wachsberger, Summit's co-chairman and president. Last edited by Cold Slither; 05-02-2009 at 11:59 AM.. |

Well, they can't shit on the franchise anymore than they already have.
Well, that is unless they cast Channing Tatum as Connor. |

I loved the original movie but was really upset with the second movie. I could have been just fine with nothing past the first, but no they had to go and screw the mythos up.

Highlander 2 is the Immortal equivalent of Midichlorians.

More like the close cousin of "Battlefield Earth".

Highlander was a pretty good idea often ruined by terrible execution. Even the first movie, which I give credit to for originating the idea, doesn't really hold up that well, and Christopher Lambert was never a great actor. Adrian Paul in the Highlander series was, to me, much more believable, and that series usually more watchable than any of the films. I would welcome a high quality reboot of the franchise.
And Highlander 2 never happened.
