The ARAH figures = more durable.
The 25th figurse = more realistic, more poseable, better looking. I would say as an adult I certainly like the 25th a whole lot better. If I were a kid and still played with them, I'd be mixed because I don't think the 25th would hold up as well. |

While I like the look of 25th figure sculpts and detail, I prefer the o-ring design and back-screw. The mid-chest articulation still looks incredibly unnatural to me. And why they don't make them out of harder plastic is beyond me. I've had a few that felt like play-doh. Last edited by nacho; 04-02-2009 at 04:35 PM.. |

durability aside I still prefer the ARAH. Yeah the new ones are more detailed but I think that is why I buy them for my son and not me. I like a less realistic more cartoony look. Joes to me are about being a kid not an adult who likes kid stuff. Then again I had similar issues with the MOTU figures that came out a few years ago. Cool, but not quite what I like.

I was going for a complete collection of ARAH until the 25th came out. Now I've traded or sold my ARAH figures to buy more of the 25th figures and make a huge army, something I couldn't do as a kid.

No they didn't. Hasbro kept dragging them back out at the behest of nostalgia-starved fanboys who want to relive their childhoods instead of progressing the line. And the GIJCC continues to do so.

Do you even own any ARAH figures? The figures you call "laughable" are from the most iconic and epic toy line in history. There is no way the 25th line will EVER come close to matching the sheer expansiveness of the ARAH line. The "fragile pieces of crap that should have stayed in the 1980's" are what made your beloved 25th line possible. Have they done some cool things with the 25th line? Sure, the accessories (MASS device, camera, weather dominator) are a great addition and the detail work is great. But for my money, I'll take the ARAH.

So apparently you don't buy the 25th out of nostalgia? You just picked it up? Never heard of it in the 80's? Aren't many of the collector's here buying the 25th "ANNIVERSARY" line to relive their childhoods a little bit?

I can't wait for this 25th/comic/cartoon line to end. Then all you ARAH haters will have something else to complain about. I find it absurd how many people on here trash talk the 80's joes.

I forgot to mention. These new movie figures with the huge battle corps style shooting weapons look like crap.
