Man, I finally opened up my BBI 'Desert' Humvee, and MAN I was disappointed.
Starting with the fact that it has "HUMVEE(r)" printed on each side, coupled with the that some of the glued on accessories have totally different paintjobs, no windows anywhere... man. It doesn't hold a candle to the 21st century HMMWV's. Pros? It's very very sturdy, it can definitely take some punishment. The coloring and weathering is nice, but comes across too strong in some points. Overall, it'll be converted to a COBRA something I think.

Simply cut out thin strips of transparent plastic from the toy packages you have, and glue or tape them to the inside of the vehicle. Last edited by Bravestarr; 03-31-2009 at 03:34 AM.. |

Yeah, its funny because the most noticeable thing RIGHT about the BBI one is they got the front grill correct (probably because they licensed it).
On a related note, I got my soft-top and hard-top 21stC HMMWV's today, and MAN they are awesome. I didn't think a weaponless vehicle could be cool but they are really nice.

Still waiting for my 2 soft-top HUMVEEs and 2 new Patton tanks. Also have 1:6 scale General Rommel enroute, with a few other things. Thanks again for your tips and reminders about that awesome site! |

They can also be used as airfield support vehicles for your BBI birds/helos. Check 2:30 of this video here. I think that is a soft-top Humvee on the tarmac with the UH-60 Pave Hawk: Also, here: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo...54075123PYbzLY Last edited by Bravestarr; 03-31-2009 at 04:05 AM.. |

This also brings up the long debate over which is a better product, 21C or BBi? -Personally, I like 21C better as they are far more detailed and articulate. The AH-1W Super Cobra is better than the AH-64D Apache in terms of detail and articulation for example. The down side with 21C is that their products are not made for play and can not take a beating. The Bbi products can. I wish that BBi would add more screw hole covers and opening parts. It would be really nice if their F-16 and F-18 would have a movable rudder, ailerons and elevators on the tail and wings as well like most of the 21C planes. |

Well, to be fair 21st never really marketed their stuff to the kids.
Also the 16 and 18 came out before everyone started doing opening access panels and gun doors on their birds, though the static ailerons and such may be inexcusable depending on your tolerance for such things. |

None of them actually marketed anything in a public forum. But, they have the word "Toys" in both of their names and sell their products in the toys aisles of toy stores. They may want to come back from the grave as 21st century collectibles.
