comedian was great too! is he is the same guy who plays Sam and Dean's dad in supernatural.. looks like him. The night owl also played his role pretty well.. he was more convincing than christian bale as batman. actually everyone was perfect.
they really brought this graphic novel to life. the only missing scenes seem to have been th side story about the guy in a life raft and replacement of fake alien invasion. I wonder what Alan Moore thinks of the movie, if he's seen it at all. I read somewhere he didn't want hsi name in the credits and had no intention of watching it because "hollywood spoon feeds the audience like a bird spoonfeeding its young with canned worms.." or something along those lines.

Either way, it's his baby and it was one of the great turning points in comic book history so naturally you would expect him to be very protective about his work being handled by other people. It's a shame he declined to be credited, at least Dave Gibbons helped out a bit. He did a crap episode of The Simpsons though, what gives? hah. Last edited by CallMeRotten; 03-08-2009 at 10:16 PM.. |

They advertised it as a kids movie. The trailer has the look of "strange superhero team". It's a good movie, but seriously this movie makes Batman look like Teddy Ruxpin.

I just got back from seeing it and i thought they did the best adaptation you could see in a movie. I liked it for the most part, except ithough some of the choices for music was bad. It made the movie a little "poppy" and that movie should be very serious. I wonder if fans unfamiliar with the graphic novel will see it as slightly comedic, because of the music. Haley was dead on, dead on with Rorshach. The voice was perfect, it's like they took Batman, all the dark stuff about him, and amped it up to 10. The casting was great. Nixon was a tad campy, but I think he was meant to be. All in all a pretty damn good interpretation.

I've seen a few folks say similar on this thread, I'm curious what songs exactly did you feel were bad choices? Was it Tears for Fears? or Hallelujah? I know some folks in the theater chuckled a bit when Hallelujah came on during the love scene, I thought it was kinda funny. Last edited by CallMeRotten; 03-08-2009 at 11:52 PM.. |

I felt the same way too, granted I loved The Dark Knight but Watchmen definitely had more "balls".
