My brother told me about it. I don't know much, but he now owns a few guns. He also told me because of this act some guns are going up in value - again I don't know much more on this topic. Maybe I should take him up on buying a gun, just in case this does happen.

Here's a great example. last august my sister was attacked at a gas station by three men. Fortunately she was armed with the 9mm glock my brother and I gave her when she left for college. The men fled the scene and my sister lives. yay! FYI she didn't just pull a gun on three creepy looking dudes. they did attack first. Her face got pummeled a little before she was able to arm herself.

Not to compare You to any of them. But the day private citizens can no longer defend themselves is the day citizenship will end. The government has to fear to people for democracy to work. In order for that to happen the people have to possess the means of deposing an unethical illegal government should in one day be necessary. What happens if one day a government takes control of this country and wants to do things that are unAmerican? How can that be stopped if the common citizen possess no means to stand up and say "No!" And do not say it can't happen. The Germans in the 1930 though the same thing. One of the first things Hitler did when he took power was establish gun control. The only ones that had any guns were his Nazi thugs. Then he annexed Austria, then Poland, then started the Holocaust........ It is vital that freedom loving people have a means to maintain that freedom. |

Our founders know that it is necessary to the security of a FREE state (from enemy invasion and to deter potentially tyrannical government). If you don't think that can happen, there are plenty of modern examples, many that are happening as we speak.

As for this, without getting political. If you live in the country it can take over 30 minutes for one of the two police officers in your town to respond to your 911 call. for the city its on unheard of for them to not respond at all and while most of the time they do, on average it takes 15 minutes. No criminal is going to wait to steal from you or worse.

No matter how many laws are passed, petty criminals will ALWAYS manage to find guns and ammunition. Responsible gun owners are the only people who suffer from these constant attmepts at 2nd Amendment revisions - whereas the right of the citizens to retain the ability to keep their own weapons, shall never be infringed upon by the government, in a situation where the government will try to enforce IT'S OWN laws, and not those of the people it is supposed to serve.
I said it before and I'll say it again - we need to kick this 2 party system out of our country and take back our voice as Americans. Look back through history, and see that when they first reared their ugly heads, the Republicans and Democrats were THE SAME party. Look back even further, and read Pres. George Washington's farewell address - in particularly his opposition to any political party taking office - and you'll see where this country went wrong. So many of us accept it as part of the system. It is not. These are people who are making drastic decisions that affect our lives based on THEIR political, religious and moral agendas. Attempting to take away this right (a right seen so important by the founders of this country that they made it #2 on our Bill of Rights) is another step towards a totalitarian nation. Brave New World and 1984. |

During the period from Colombine thru the Virginia Tech tragedy, more high school and college students died as a result of football related injuries than gun violence. I don't hear anyone yelling about banning football. |
