Personally I'm all for it. I just don't see (as someone else said) having the shelf space to start completely over at the 6" scale for Joe. That said I concede that I'm more than willing to make shelf space available for other lines- like MOTUC, NECA, et. al.- so if the move to 6" is attractive enough I'm sure I'd work with it.

I'm on limited funds and shelf space for the Sideshow offerings, which is why the Star Wars Black Series 6" line got me hooked. I'd probably be into a Joe 6" line, but would be really picky. For my tastes, I'd probably only go after the ones that look like Pursuit of Cobra offerings or like they jumped off the screen from a Modern Warfare video game. Ninja Snake Eyes, no thanks; POC "desert" SE with 3 MAC-10s - YES.

I rather like the 3.75" Ultimate Snake Eyes (w/Timber) more better.

1/18 scale military action figures are alive and well at all the brick and mortar stores, there just not Gi Joe brand. I've collected 1/18 Joe, Starwars, and Marvel, and off brand military, because I like the 1/18 scale, small enough and economical enough to buy what figures, vehicles, and sets I want, in multiples. I don't want 6 inch action figures and I've passed on tons of super cool detailed Superheros, why? Because I don't collect posable figurines. The vehicles are too large, and I don't have the space for them. I came from the 12 inch era but I've been hooked on 1/18 scale since the start of the 25th line.

Well, in the absence of any real mass-market 1/18th G.I. Joe line, I suppose collectors will go for whatever they can get...

I totally stopped collecting 1/18 Joes near the end of ME. Then sold all that. When this figure dropped I began to get really excited about the prospect of a 1/12 Joe line. Classified brought me back to GI Joe. I was out before that.

A lot of the comments are funny to read now and certainly didn't age well, with lots of "6-inch Joes will fail" and "nobody wants bigger GI Joe figures". It's fun to re-read old posts though.
I unloaded my entire ME collection on here a couple years back. Don't regret it and I don't miss those at all. I did keep all of my o-rings though and will never get rid of those. It was a custom by a fan and wasn't actually ever sold or made by any company. Hope that helps!
