Sycophantic praise for Gallant’s storytelling aside, this is another very enjoyable episode (I'm in the middle of it now). Seriously, though, I can’t understand why Tim favors Gallant and is so critical of Mooneyham. Time and money factors aside, Gallant's paneling is boring and his human figures are stiff. He got the job done and I praise him for that, but I think Mooneyham runs circles around him.

But a spectrum of opinion is more interesting that everyone having an identical opinion. Regardless of our own exact personal tastes, the new art team makes for an exciting contrast to what has come before, and adds to the energy of a new era of ARAH. |

So I saw that Hama wrote 147 issues of the marvel run. That means he’s now written more ongoing issues than he originally wrote for the marvel run. Like 148 issues or something (of blue ninjas…).

Mooneyham reminds me of Joe Kubert although he’s not quite up to that level. Few are. Good stuff so far.

I don't feel sycophantic is the right word. I think Tim's feelings arent completely straightforward. My feeling is he loves the clarity of Gallant's art from IDW and feels it was underserved at the time (deadline pressure, inking, color). Tim also speaks highly of Mooneyham at times, but I get that his personal criticism is an outlier. Brad says something like "your knowledge of perspective is getting in the way of a good time".

I'm more interested in lesser-seen Cobras than Joes. It would be great to see the likes of Major Bludd, Tomax/Xamot, Scrap Iron, Firefly, and Copperhead. An all out battle with Tomax/Xamot and an army of Crimson Guards would be pretty cool. |
