Has anyone used clear nail polish as a sealant? Know if it works well? I?m not using it for huge parts or anything like that, I only need it for a couple of small stuff that needs protection from paint chipping.
Any experience anyone?

I have not used nail polish, but i would instead recommend pledge floor care with future shine, as it has a proven track record among model builders.

I've used clear nail polish and it can work well. Just be aware some are glossy and some matte. Also, use a paint brush rather than the nail application brush because the soft brush makes it harder to apply thin layers or have any precision. and keep some acetone on-hand to promptly clean the brush when you're done.

I've had pretty good luck carefully applying super glue with a plastic sandwich bag over my finger.
Granted, I've only customized like 6 figures (and 2 aren't quite done), but I have painted just about everything else under the sun, and the glue works.

As to why both products are so often recommended, it's basically a clear liquid acrylic that self-levels, a big bottle of it is cheap and will last ages, and if it's meant to hold up to constant foot traffic, it's likely durable enough for your needs. |

Just an FYI that Pledge seems to have discontinued this product. However, the model community has found that Quick Shine by Holloway House (green bottle) is very similar, if not identical. (The link is just for reference, it can be found at retail.)

Hmm that?s interesting. I?ve heard of using pledge floor cleaner for loose joints, which I have tried for that. But it only works temporarily as with time the more you move the joints, it?s just breaks up and loosens up again. Witch leads me to believe it wouldn?t be the best sealer. But I don?t know, I?m not gonna knock it until I?ve tried it for that purpose. Thanks for sharing the ideas guys!

Don't use it on anything except hard ABS plastics. It won't dry on PVC types.
Were I you I would skip it altogether. Get a pot of Citadel Stormshield (flat finish) and Citadel Ardcoat (gloss finish). They are water based, dry well and easy to clean up. You can apply them with a nice fine brush and your results will be way better. If you want something even easier get you a Gundam Marker Clear. They are available in gloss and flat.
