Maaaan. The JvC era was a little deflating at first. I didn't care for the initial non-o-ring offerings. That face on Destro? Ew.
I loved it when they had to put out a bunch of o-ring two packs to give themselves time to update the new sculpt construction. Was a great, great, great way to pick up a bunch of Vipers and Alley Vipers. And, boy, I've still got a few Mirages laying around somewhere. As the new stuff went on, some gems came out. The Spy Troops CC w/ the helmet is still a fantastic figure to my eyes. And they always managed to get some vintage stuff out there, whether it was the comic three packs or the six packs and what have you. And, just like the RAHC the preceded it, I was in hog heaven. It was the first time since I was in fourth grade that I got to see Joe all over the toy section. Time hasn't been kind to the figures. I spent a few years working them out of my displays even if I do think that Sgt Stalker is a pretty well done figure. And I guess comic pack Cover Girl counts as a part of that era too? I've still got her hanging out in the Joe HQ. Which I also managed to score bc of this time period. And of course my Hiss IV.... The 25th was what ultimatley deflated me. I liked getting fancy updates for characters I loved, but it just didn't keep my interest. I wasn't mad at it, though. Anytime Joe starts rolling with stuff I don't care for, it means I get to save money, and that means I've got more money to spend on other wacky pursuits.

I can't say a single positive thing about sigma6. Both sizes are unusable and total shit.
I may hate 25th modern sculpt gijoes, but i can at least say that modern star wars is better by having similar articulation. Which isnt exactly saying anything positive about modern sculpt gijoes. It was a pretty radical departure so I can see why a lot of folks didn?t like it. |

Fortunately things got better and some of those later figs and many of the POC/30th/Renegades were some of the best Hasbro produced. |

Sigma 6 was much a part of the new sculpt and modern era designs for the 1:18 scale figures and vehicles.
For example, the blue Cobra 2005 Air Assault was released as part of the Valor vs Venom line, a repaint of the 2003 Spy Troops line. That was also remade as a vertical assault pack which came with the 8-inch tall 2006 Sigma 6 Sky B.A.T. figure. At the first G.I.Joe Convention I attended in 2008, the Club dropped new sculpt 1:18 scale Sky B.A.T.s for the parachute drop that Friday morning, like the one I've pictured below.

People can criticize it all they want but it was more successful than the 25th era line. Joe sales in 2008 were $30 million; Spy Troops was $80 million five years before that.
