It's more than nothing, so even that would be nice to get (and they card the figures for those).

to everhything in realdubya's comment. but im going to point out a few extra things that just eek into how out of touch hasbro is about everything now. Quote:

$12 a figure or go fuck yourself. Seriously. The price gouging is absurd. Plastic is still cheapish. This is just shareholder pocket stuffing at the end of the boom years. Anyway, they fucked themselves out of the long game once again with shortsightedness and corporate noise and bullshit. Too many stakeholders who do NOTHING but expect all the REWARD at this point in these megacorps. It's only expensive because they have to pay 500 employees for each figure.
Quote:
Streamline your overgrown bullshit. Big companies just don't work, except for the shareholder.
Quote:
The little companies and indies like Super7, Stan Solo, NECA - their HQ game is LEAN and focused. MINIMUM amount of decision makers. Now, pricing conversations aside, they DELIVER so much more directly to fans than Hasbro or Mattel. They are BOOMING because they understand their narrow lanes and focus, focus, focus.
Quote:
Hasbro, Mattel... they're like the Eye of Sauron, just scanning and afire, looking for the end of the gravy train like the coming of death.
Quote:
We just need a slightly more skilled Black Major produce remakes and new o-rings. We need someone as organized as Stan Solo.
Quote:
The holding of the license is almost irrelevant. The old BORDERS between buyer and producer are eroding faster than a sand castle at high tide.

The people who work currently there? Perfectly lovely people. I'm sorry they have to go on camera and be public personas (a fucked up relic of the dwindling social media/personal brand era of American life) as much as they do - it looks immiserating.
lots of people like to blame video games, and while i have a 5 year old that gets hyperfocused on whatever screen is on in front of him, i dont blame video games for this for every child. i blame the fact that toys - especially hasbro's toys - have completely priced children out of buying their toylines. a kid is likelier to be able to afford a couple spinmaster batman figures than they are a star wars figure. 4 batman figures, than they are a transformer. 13 bucks for jurassic park toys gets them a figure and a dinosaur. there's no fucking way as a 5-11 year old would i have been able to buy anything hasbro sells now and as i mentioned earlier, they sell everything im interested in. im not going to buy a dinosaur just because i have 13 bucks burning a hole in my pocket. the end. rock over london, rock on chicago. toys r us, where a kid can be a kid. I think Haslabs and multipacks are the way to go if O-ring continues/comes back (it is hard to say it's gone when we just got the Skystrikers earlier than forecasted). |

Yeah, if it comes down to it, I'll go a good 3 days without food before I compromise on getting toys. Live life with integrity or don't live at all is my motto.

I still feel like the smart move would be remaking some of the vehicles. The Stinger feels so much better in hand than both of my OG VAMPS it's not funny.
I'd kill to buy more ARAH vehicles that I don't have to worry about snapping the moment I touch them. The vehicles are where the money is at - the Skystriker and Stinger prove that IMHO. |

i had to make sure stan solo, he's not even there with super7 or neca, he's like one of those underground people like black major. he shouldnt be making most of those figures (the hasbro/kenner stuff) and it's only a matter of time before hasbro gets pissed at him like black major. I think as long as these guys don't call it LUKE SKYWALKER and just use SPACE FARMBOY instead, Disney and Hasbro can't really do anything. Maybe in our old paradigm/world of a fixed number of gatekeepers, but that is almost totally blown away now. The license holders just have not realized en masse yet. They'll get 1 or 2 at customs under arcane forgery laws but thousands will get by. Thousands. But not hundreds of thousands, which is the LEVEL that the Hasbro lawyers/liars and shareholders/lay about thieves would start to realize they might not be able to fund their third lake house and panic. Nobody make any sudden or flashy moves and everything goes smooth. Only the anti-reproduction nannies and narcs and Corporate fanboys (the worst kind of fan of ALL TIME) pose a real threat, but again, just ignore them. Don't feed the idiot brigade and they disperse almost at once. Last edited by TheRealDubya; 03-17-2023 at 01:08 PM.. |
