Based on comments about damaged contents, opened the skystriker today after receiving it and all but Ace had damaged cards.they all had a prominent crease running down the top middle, some worse than others, like they were tacod at the point of the triangle shipping sleeve. Pretty disappointed to say the least.
Obviously could be much worse….but was really looking forward to these MOC. Last edited by Wyo; 03-27-2023 at 09:13 PM.. |

Mine is arriving today. I'm only keeping Skystriker and Ripcord. I'm thinking of selling on Ebay, but I have to see the card conditions before deciding as I'm scared some dick will buy it and file a complaint on Ebay. I'll take pics after I open and put in B/S/T here first. I'd rather make less and not have the Ebay hassle. Will sell Cobra sticker sheet too. I'd rather sell it to the community here and help someone out but also help pay some of the Skystriker costs. What's reasonable price here?

So I've opened my Skystriker, and it seems everything pretty much looks fine. Figures are all good through the cards (haven't opened them yet), cards are good, all the accessories seem to be there etc. The only issue I had was when I was attaching one of the wings, there was a small gap where the seam was, where as the other wing attached perfectly and there was no gap where the seam was. I realized that there was a little bit of extra plastic on the plane side of the seam, where the piece was attached to the plastic tree during production. I shaved it off with a scalpel, and the wing fit on perfectly. Just thought people might want to know incase they have a small gap and can't figure out why.
I've seen someone else's photo where it looks like there are gaps where both wings are attached, and I believe that's because the wings were not completely clipped on. I noticed that the slips snap in much easier on towards the backs of the wing compared to the front. The front goes in almost all the way without snapping, and it can be easy to mistake it for going all the way in, but it just requires a bit more pressure for it to completely snap in, and the gap should be eliminated from the seem. I too have noticed that when the landing gears are down, if I push the plane, the landing gears kind of collapse inwards relatively easy. So, to mitigate that, if I play with it, I just keep my finger on the hook that operates the landing gear during take off, and that solves the issue. Despite these relatively minor imperfections, I have to say I'm ver impressed with the Skystriker and set, it's well worth the price IMO. I know that some people have experienced some QC issues with cards etc. but I'm finding the quality of the product in terms of the design, plastic, the thought that's gone into this, to be very good, and it does make me want the Joe team to make more. I do prefer the glossy plastic of the Skystriker over the softer waxy plastic of the Stinger, and I hope that going forward, if the Joe team does more vehicle, they opt for the harder glossy plastic... It just feels like a higher quality toy, and feels more vintage. The Skystriker feels solid, and feels like a toy you can actually play with without worrying about breaking it too easily, so I'm happy about that. I really hope we get a Rattler, either Haslab or just a general release, cause I want something to battle the Skystriker, and to also give Ramp Rat some kind of meaning in life, so he doesn't have an existential crisis. |

As far as QC issues - the post on the Hasbro FB, anyone commenting about issues they were telling to message them. So I wonder if FB is a decent method to initiate some QC exchanges or if its just leads to a referral back to the Hasbro website. Hopefully its seamless. |

Glad to hear. I think I know exactly what you mean when snapping it in. At first it looked off and I really needed to snap it in directly on the hinge part.

That's good to know about the Hasbro Facebook. I hope they deal with the QC complaints well, and sort people out fairly, cause it would be a shame to ruin what should be an exciting experience, and also for people to have faith in future products, or at least that if something goes wrong, they're be taken care of. |

Ok so maybe I'm missing the point, but why do they give you 3 stickers for the tail fins?I get the whole customize how you want, but I figured it would have been 4 (so you can put it on both the black and gray fins).
Am I missing where it goes on something else? |

I assume the third is included as a correction - a small update I appreciated greatly.

If you mean the classic eagles, it's likely because the OG were basically two of the same sticker, meaning they were faced the same way (looked weird when applied, as one would face the front, the other the rear.)
