Damn now I feel like I need to verify all the little itty bits on my second box before I put it in the deep cold storage of the garage.

Finished opening the rest of the figures. They feel like dollar store knockoffs of the originals. Ace's arm rivet is so loose(can slide it side to side) that I will contact them over that. Guess I'd better open the jet to make sure it has everything before I do
It's weird how inconsistent things are. Like CC helmet was this rough, matte plastic, while ace's helmet was glossy paint. One figure had a gun that literally felt like rubber, while another has one that was normal. Then there's scarlet with no way to hold her weapon. What in the world... Other than the crossbow handle Hasbro did a great job with these O-rings

Not too sure they are meant for the wings, but the Red and Black stripes with black fins sure make the Skystriker feel grown up.

Anybody have issues with the weapon tabs not sliding into the bottom side as one end is slightly too wide?

Got my Skystriker today, got it assembled but not stickered yet. This thing is amazing. Good solid plastic feel, great details. All around, it's excellent.
Noticed when I put it next to the original Systriker that the tailfins are more upright, like the actual F-14. (I haven't pulled the 30th Skystriker out of storage to compare it with the new one yet.) Quote:
Fail-Safe wound up looking a lot like Jim Gutterman, the character played by James Whitmore Jr in Baa Baa Black Sheep/Black Sheep Squadron. So instead of the focused New Yorker stuff from the file card, I think my Fail-Safe will be a short-tempered Texan who's always ready to fight literally anyone. |

Weapon tabs were a little weird and I committed to the one that holds 2 missiles and kept it moving after snapping it in. Removing the original was treachorous.

Yes, I'm wondering if there is going to be any market at all for fully sealed Haslab Sky Strikers. I sure wouldn't buy one without verifying the contents first.

The Skystriker box could 100% hold the plane and enough stickers/accessories that it did not.
Partially has me wondering if we'd see a "regular" release of just the plane itself, no figures (well, maybe Ace but not on cardback), no stand, no blast effects, no fuel depot, and far fewer missles for $100-130. That is, if there are any O-Ring plans for the year.
