I am gonna assume the item they pased to talk about that would be "as big as the USS Flag at 3 -to- 4ft sized item" was the Cobra carrier flying base from the Season 1 Intro an miniseries.
As it was mentioned in a previous show by Brian an is really the only thing that would possibly be that large as the FLAG and also as he put it "also be something never made before". I can also see why it wouldnt work. As since it would have to be made for Reaction, most Joe collectors wouldnt bite unless they were vintage o-ring collectors. |

Silent Castle requires less space for display than a large vehicle since it's more tall than wide. Though there might be some crossover appeal with other fantasy 1:18 lines, it would still be a tough sell for hundreds of dollars.
I'd still buy it in a heartbeat. |

If it was 3 feet tall I'd say one of the massive Cobra Water Robots those things even made the Steel Kaiju look small. For a vehicle to be that big it must be a Cobra Helicarrier or Submarine. I can't think of anything else from the cartoon that would be that massive that wasn't already a toy. |

Here is the short video with Brian mentioning about the possibly ReAction vehicle plus I added at the end the vehicle I think he is referring to

So they were planning to make a HISS themselves? Yikes, can only imagine how expensive THAT would have been.
I'm unsure why Bryan says vehicles and playsets and dioramas don't sell yet teases more of them. |

Some other bits from that:
The Arctic Rescue ReAction set didn't sell as well as it needed to. Just ok. Dioramas/playsets sell even less. Another GI Joe pop-up at SDCC likely. Probably GI Joe themed instead of Cobra. Keep eyes on April Fools. Ultimates Wave 4 announce in April. Wants Wave 1 in hand first. Brian's favorite Cobra Commander is in the next ReAction wave. It will make people scratch their heads at first and then remember where he's from. More Palitoy down the road. International figures are important to the brand. Presumably HISS was in development for probably Ultimates but was canned when Classified announced theirs. Brian has an idea for a 3 foot long+ vehicle for ReACtion that would also work with O-Ring and cost $500ish, but doesn't feel there are enough people with space + money to buy it, so it's a no-go. It's a never-before-made vehicle.

https://youtu.be/OOhSJ0jyVw4 There is something really powerfully apt about saying space is a concern for collectors because I know it is for me. I have room to grow and could retire other things, but with the likelihood of another Classified Haslab being offered this year, needing a place to display the Haslab Skystriker and just the general upkeep of having a pleasing display that doesn't look like a TRU threw up in my 'man cave'... space running out is a thing. My guess? You can't support the line with figures alone. You have to swing for the fences and hope a few hits land in that collector sweet spot and sell well. Perhaps the Artic Rescue set wasn't a home run nor was their diorama, but does that mean everything unilaterally will fail/underperform? Again this is just my two cents as to his mentality Last edited by Stygian; 01-23-2023 at 01:28 PM.. |

I suppose. But seeing so many new Ultimates on Amazon and Ebay for $25 or even less really makes me wonder how much these lines will last. Especially TMNT ones, which seem a race to the bottom.
