Finally saw it this week. Thought it was pretty poor. Main annoyance was that they seemed to have the ingredients to make a decent film. The main actors did the best with what they were given and Storm Shadow's portrayal was good. The action set pieces could have been better, but the shaky camera work undercut them.
I also think they could have followed Hama's comic origin a bit more closely in terms of the brotherhood coming from serving together. One of the actors in promos said that the story was also about Snake Eyes culture shock in Japan; sadly none of that came through in the movie. The giant snakes and magic gem were unnecessary and didn't really add anything. |

I finally decided to watch it on Prime tonight. I was entertained enough while I watched it. It felt kind of like the Martial Arts/Ninja movies I remember as a kid than a GI Joe movie. Funny thing is that after I watched it, I took a look at other streaming sites to see what was new this month and Tubi has all four American Ninja movies on this month.

I don't know why this movie popped into my head randomly today, but I had a thought....
Did Andrew Koji ever actually wear a mask as Storm Shadow? I don't think I've seen any pics or videos of him in one. I'm not gonna rewatch the movie to find out. Anyone know? I think it's awfully odd that he never even wore the character's iconic look. At least Snake Eyes gave us a full 15 seconds at the very end of the movie. |

Man. That's so stupid! His mask is such a cool part of the costume. Can't believe he didn't even wear it for less than a minute like Snake Eyes did.

Yeah. They should have shown him slip it in at the end when he joined Cobra.

Looks like a major GI Joe reboot is on the way according to Hollywood agent and pr manager Clint Morris.
