I paid over double retail for Arctic Mission SS last year, the ugliest figure in the line in my opinion. He was one of only a couple that I didn't have and I didn't want him to keep going up.

Not sure it matters if they do. Their job is to sell product. Any outreach to the community is ultimately in service to that goal. That's not to say that many individuals in the company aren't fans like we are, but "the community" is sort of its own thing, independent of Hasbro in many respects. |

My desire to collect was to have a select few to open and one sealed MIB to keep. I'd previously been perfectly fine with windowless, but tbh once I had the Blue Ninjas in hand I really, really disliked it. "Hate" is a strong word but it feels a bit accurate.

And I?ll get dragged for this, but I really don?t understand why people are so upset. We are getting figures on a fairly regular basis. I don?t think my budget could handle a new wave every two months.
Simply put, some of us are just fine with the line and how things are going. Shrug. And, quite frankly, it's odd to say we are getting figures on a regular basis. The rarity of waves and the way the line trickles into people's hands is the very definition of irregular. But we've gone over how rare figures have been from about mid-2021 to now multiple times. I won't trot out the list again.

HissTank is actually pretty subdued regarding the distribution issues compared to social media sites. Classified availability is discussed at least as much if not more than the figures themselves. There is actually a good deal more apologism on this forum than basically anywhere else (which I find weird).

Once upon a time, I fell into a rut of being negative on some toy forums. Now I try to be more positive. Toys are meant to be fun after all. But it is very easy to be negative with all the current issues. Continuous price hikes, shipping delays, windowless packaging, inconsistent messaging, preorder after preorder, paper thin card backs on the retro line, lack of Zandar release info , movie figures clogging up the pegs and now UK Pulse being the only source of figures. I’m sure I missed a bunch. But, the figures are still awesome. And I really, really can not wait for the Hiss Tank.

And, quite frankly, it's odd to say we are getting figures on a regular basis. The rarity of waves and the way the line trickles into people's hands is the very definition of irregular. But we've gone over how rare figures have been from about mid-2021 to now multiple times. I won't trot out the list again. If folks want positivity out of some of us, happy to do so, but then people will be upset that we're not talking about Classified. MOTU Origins is *crushing it* as a line with deep cuts, authentic products (and authentic updated characters/releases), regular releases, plastic windowed packaging, and decent prices (which, admittedly, seem to have gone up starting around wave 10, which is just hitting stores right about now). I'm regularly (every other week, give or take) getting product shipped to me. In fact (this is another line I am seeking to be a completist on), of all the product released thus far, there are *6* items I do not have; of those 6, I have a tracking number for one, another is releasing from Target next weekend (the illustrious October 2), and the remaining 4 is but a single wave of figures that I have on preorder. Contrast that with 17 Classified figures I have on preorder, which will be a minimum of 18 counting Serpentor next week and potentially more if, for instance, another wave goes up for preorder or they open up Retro Cardback Snake Eyes/CG, and should be 20 figures on preorder since I imported TF/PP wave 1. Not to mention a few O-Ring preorders including the Transformer crossovers. Look, I'm a huge fan of Classified and GI Joe in general, but I'm not shilling for a corporation (a) at all, (b) especially one that doesn't pay me, and certainly not (c) one making all the mistakes Hasbro has with GI Joe this year. If you don't like the negativity, then be quiet about it and move on with your life. If you want to be positive about the line by all means do so; in my negativity towards the line I've never ever ever maintained that this is how any single other person has to feel about it. I make it clear it's my opinion. That said, if you want to break out clowntown fantasy land alternative facts like "figures are being released regularly," I'm gonna have a laugh about that. You're allowed to be positive and, hey, live and let live. But you're not allowed to write fiction to bolster your case. This was a 2-figure release year until July, and a 1-figure (well, one UPC, two figures) release since then. tl;dr: y'all are allowed to be as positive as you want, and it's always been that way. But don't lie to the rest of us and then tell us we're ignoring reality, that's utterly delusional.

So, is anyone else seeing anything like this with their Cobra Guardsmen? On previous figures (like all of them) the shoulder was ball shaped and sat into a cupped bicep, ie: the Storm Shadow pic. I'm guessing the change on this figure was to make the uniform look more realistic? It comes off however with an annoying gap in the arm.
I thought I had a bad figure, but that joint has been loose on a couple I opened. Bad design or Quality Control? Last edited by BigBear812; 09-24-2022 at 06:45 PM.. |
