I'm familiar with your OG customs as they are some of my favorite on this site. I don't believe I have ever seen this thread until now. Everything in it is blowing my mind.
Your recreation photo of the yearbook cover is simply amazing!

That Yearbook cover was on of my favorites, both the original comic cover, and my homage. Hopefully my lack of US flag background isn't too detracting, but until I get possesion and mastery of ILM-level compositry, I'd rather make do with simple backgrounds and experiments with lights and shadows and vignetting (or reverse vignetting in this case). And in the end, Michael Golden's original cluster composition was most important (the flag background added later as a graphic I believe). 2020-09-23_12-04-45 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr BTW: Back then I almost forgot about doing this image with Ripcord's showcase. The original idea was try some heavy bird's-eye or wormseye shots, but test shots were coming out horribly (or were not capturing the figure in a favorable light). I happily changed plans once I remembered. Also: the wish to do it came earlier when I did the LJ-RB-Flint picture for Roadblock (but didn't have a good Ripcord or Torpedo at the time . And that triad photo--and the way 50th Flint looked in it (blech)--led to wave 2 and beyond for this thread. I meant to retake the photo once Flint and LJ got my updates, also dialing down on its yellow light, but forgot about it. Hmmm... 2019-10-26_10-05-12 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr |

Always so much amazing stuff going on with you man! One can really appreciate all the time you must put in to make such perfect finished figures. And so many of them!

I love your homages to the comic books and comic book covers! I'd love to see you work on some Oktober Guard customs and do an homage to Yearbook 2!!

For the Oktober Guard, both you and Marsel pretty much nailed them a few years back during our heyday! I actually got all the head casts I think, ready whenever I get a mad on to get them going, and a part plan for the main 5. I might be fb messaging you on body parts (Marauder WWII, or wait for Vietnam?). |

By the way, here's the unprocessed photo. With arguably 15% customization--so almost straight from package. You all can line em up to make sure (and judge for yourself). 2022-09-24_06-06-55 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr |

Thanks germ. It doesn't feel like I have a lot of customs shown though, especially compared to the output of many others here. A lot has to do with my limited era of interest, with 82-84 being my real love. Also, I don't feel like Ive been whipping them out as much as many would like, so it's nice to know that my "production level" is acceptable here. As for my real job....oy...
Yeah I like to do cover homages when I get inspired. The pinup style ones with characters dominant are my favorite because they showcase the figure build, while the figure photo gives opportunity to bring iconic images, comic art and characters to the the 3D realm. Speaking of the Vietnam KS, I cannot wait for that KS to ship! I got in on the first run of All-In, which turned out to be the best deal price wise. I have a PowerPoint I've created with each illustration from the KS and Backerkit add-ons. I'm working out in my head how to use those parts to kit-bash some classic 82-88 Joes! Honestly, though they may end of sitting in a box for year though as I finish writing and defending my dissertation. I'm hoping to defend in the Spring 2024, and then maybe my life will get back to normal and I can invest time back into my hobbies ;-) Jason |

I actually won't use Photoshop. Too much godpower and not free. But dont fret, I get what you're alluding to--looks like I'll have to work on my customizing skills. Maybe get twice better, get up to 30%. Maybe.
