I saw this article recently about Next Generation Trek (Late 80s) and I can't help but wonder if this is very similar to a large part of our fanbase. If you could find a really strong writer with a passion for the property - I think you can make some truly great Joe / Cobra stories. But if too many people feel that Hama is the only one who can write for Joe, it's never going to happen. I know there have been some attempts and some were better than other, but that doesn't mean that you should just stop trying.
These "Trekkies" were actually taking the time to write letters and mail them to keep the show from happening. "It's sad to see this rip-off series going on the air, particular for us fans who have been there since the beginning." |

Funny enough, I grew up on TNG and find everything else lacking...yes, even the original series. I'm also not a fan of the TNG movies.

I am in the same boat. I was never into the original series. TNG was what I watched as a kid and is what got me into the franchise. If the series never evolved, I would have zero interest in it today.
