My post wasn't meant to single you out (your passion here doesn't bother me either way), but since you brought it up...
Did you forget you posted that on the 1st page? Literally, post #6 under this topic?

I respect what Larry Hama started. I think it's time for the franchise to move in a different direction. Hama's ARAH should become the alternate franchise.

What about evolving the series? Put Duke in the role of General Hawk and give everybody new characters with cameos of our RAH favorites along the way (like Joe Colton did with RAH)?

I'd take this with a grain of salt since it coming from a Facebook post from a random user and not Larry himself or Hasbro. I wouldn't mind seeing Larry continue his work. However, I'd like to see fresh new takes on the characters too. I'll wait for official confirmation from Larry, Hasbro, and the new publisher. |

Things I'd like to see in a new continuity:
-A compelling reason behind why people join COBRA. There is wide-spread disaffection with the ruling class (that extends far beyond the US). -GI Joe as a largely off the books organization would make more sense. It shouldn't have aircraft carriers and fleets of fighter aircraft. Having auxiliary personnel who are read-in and tasked in support would work better. -A smaller cast that is recruited because they just don't quite fit in the conventional or existing SOF world would be helpful. Shipwreck as a Gunner's Mate who went to BUDs just to prove he could graduate the program but immediately transfers to a mobility group because he wants to work with boats more than be a Team guy, Snake Eyes is recruited because this is the only way a mute soldier could stay operational, ect. -The Joe Ledger series (which is already GI Joe for adults) would be a great template. -Lean into the factions...the Drednoks may sometimes work for/with COBRA, a state actor, or autonomously for their own ends. Make them a low-rent version of a private military contractor. Some of the better ARAH stories were when sides didn't neatly align into two camps. |

True about the incessant mention of Zandar, but you inferred that people here weren't comfortable with their sexuality and wouldn't want "gay" looking figures. That's factually inaccurate on both accounts. Some members are tired of the "Zandar" talk which gets injected into just about every thread. That has nothing to do with wanting or not wanting figures who might look "gay," which seems like a non-issue. I won't touch the accusation regarding peoples' sexuality as that's completely irrelevant to just about any topic here.
Maybe it's not being uncomfortable with sexuality, but homophobia. I mean why is the idea of it so offensive to some? Do we just want our Joes to be predominantly straight white males? |

I get your point. But when the subject of some characters appearing gay (especially Zandar) came up it was quickly shut down, as if no one wants to even consider it.
