Wow, I wish I'd bought a few of these a couple of years ago. I think I paid a little over 100 for a carded one that came with the little Destro figure.
With all the Classified hype, I figured I search Ebay to see what he goes for now. I figured he might be a little more, but I see two carded ones asking for 600 dollars. One is AFA graded I think, the other isn't. So, if you have one, hang onto it. |

Well as always thats what they are asking, not necessarily how much it will sell for.But yeah i'm sure it will go for quite a bit.I had some moc Joes about 15 or so years ago that i sold back then, wish i wouldnt have. Some 85/86 figures, not sure about Alley Viper, but think i had an 89 Night Viper. The prices on vintage figures are getting pretty crazy.

Yeah vintage prices are still exploding. I spent two years and $11000 raising a massive vintage collection, and after deciding to sell it, it is nearly gone in less than two months. I've made the $11K back and still have more to sell. It seems like all toys and collectibles have risen rapidly. I had hoped that the end of Covid spending would steady out the prices, but they haven't at all.

So, if you have one, hang onto it.[/QUOTE] I would say the opposite. Sell at the top of the market. Prices have already started to come back from their 2018-2021 highs. The bubble will pop, the nostalgia craze will end, and prices will come back to reality. I'm not saying there are going to be bargains left and right, just that there is such a thing as a top, and we should recognize it, and take advantage while we can. |

That's what I'm saying. I'm selling now while it's worth it. I figure if I wait long enough, it will drop dramatically to pre-Covid/nostalgia levels and I can pay pennies on the dollar. It just got too much for me and I was making an addiction of it. I need to be a smarter collector.

I don't yearn to pay a fortune for toys my dad grew up with. When it comes to vintage Joes I'm going through a "been there done that twice" phase when it comes to collecting. It just feels like time to move on from that. I'm sure tons of people can say the same thing. Last edited by Trigger2K; 08-14-2022 at 03:38 AM.. |

This 100%. Modern kids don't have the same reverence for their own toys, much less ours. It feels sort of weird to acknowledge with all of the time and effort I've put in because it's likely going to wind up in a Goodwill somewhere when I'm gone.

While I do believe there's a pandemic bubble, I'm not so sure ARAH stuff is going to significantly drop in value. I was looking at the 60s Joe stuff on Ebay, and prices for some of that stuff are still pretty high... If that's anything to go by, I think the ARAH stuff will still hold a decent value over time, because nostalgia isn't just going to fade away, it tends to get stronger as people age.
