I didn't appreciate it. lol It's a lazy way of creating gravitas.
I prefer G.I. Joe to be more adventure driven, rather than trying to be The Bourne Identity. Give me the Sunbow series without the supernatural stuff. Be fun without being gratuitously violent or overtly goofy. It's all about balance. |

Mostly pleased from the stance that GI Joe is finally getting the respect it deserves from Hasbro. To me, this is the most important thing. For to long they treated the brand like the redheaded step child that could do no right. Finally after years of blowing us off, they've realized, after another crap movie and sell out toy line, that the brand moves itself. It doesn't need a movie or cartoon. If you make quality figures, they will move off the shelves.
The figures are all amazing. I feel like they are pandering a bit to much to the nostalgia. I'd love to see them take more risks. Make some original characters, or do something with a modern twist, but I get it. People complain about everything. Reveal to release and distribution is terrible. I mean, wait time is one thing, but as it stands, it's pre order or get nothing. It's hard to expand on a customer base when there are still no figures in stores. I haven't really seen any figures in stores, and don't anticipate a change anytime soon. I personally don't like having this much anything on pre-order, but don't feel I have a choice. I still haven't seen my bat that's on pre-order, and people have been sporadically getting them for months. I won't claim to know the answer, but something needs to change. It doesn't seem like any way to run a business but what do I know. All in all I'm very happy with the product and attention to brand. I hope to see shorter release times and realistic estimates on when product will be available. It doesn't even seem like hasbro knows when the toys are or will be available. Or why one place receives them months ahead of another. |

Also, I don't really care what the mcguffin or plot of an episode or story is, I just want to see these cool characters hanging out, interacting and helping each other out in fun, memorable and endearing ways.

I think an adult animated comedy that focus on Cobra would do pretty good, it they can get the team for the venture bro, Archer or robot chicken, that would be great

Yeah I lean more and more toward embracing the pulp action adventure vibe of GI Joe, which was present throughout Sunbow and Hama's comics.

I would absolutely watch this. I would also watch a more serious version of this idea - GI Joe through the eyes of Cobra.

Looking back I think I should've made it clearer that I was referring to that aspect of it.
Same here. GI Joe is at its best when the Joes are on interesting missions that utilize various tactics to stop COBRA's newest plan or rescue one of their own. |
