I read something a few days ago that said the Classified figures are getting new packaging. Apparently, they're changing to more environmentally friendly, but gave no details. Maybe they're going to a traditional, old-school package. I love the the boxes they currently use,as the artwork looks amazing. The idea of two types of packaging in the same collection sucks. Anyone know anything about this?

It's definitely true. The Crimson Guard / Zarana / Dusty wave will be the last to feature a plastic window.
After that the packaging will not show the figure inside at all. The art will take up the entire front and there will be a picture on the back of the figures and accessories (along with measurements). If you want to know what it will look like for Classified, check out the Viper 3 Pack packing preview. https://anthonypetrie.com/hasbro-gi-...ing-and-poster You can also see examples in the Marvel Legends line, where the new look packaging has already been revealed for single figures. Edit: I forgot about Kamakura. You can see the packaging here: https://www.amazon.com/Joe-Classifie...s%2C272&sr=8-1

That Kamakura one looks terrible. I love what they've done with packaging the Classified line. Damn it!

It's gonna be great for repackers.

I'm just very glad all the big time army builders I wanted (Trooper, Viper, BAT, Crimson Guard, Officer) have already come out or will include the window packaging.

I order all my stuff online and take it out of the package, so the Classified packaging doesn't bother me and I'm not worried about repackers, unless the online retailers I order from start doing that to me.
On the other hand, the new windowless packaging has pretty much guaranteed that Hasbro's O-ring line will not be getting my business. |

Now, I am concerned about the o-ring repackaging, because I collect the o-rings, and I want the line to continue and prosper, but some fans, like yourself, are going to be turned off because of the lack of a plastic bubble. To me the toys are more important than the packaging, because I'm an opener, so I don't care too much, but I think a way around that issue is to focus more on vehicles, as the vehicle boxes don't need bubbles or even windows to have the retro vibe. Perhaps the figure 2 packs could have a similar aesthetic to the retro vehicle boxes as a compromise... that would work for me. |

I don?t think it?ll be any different than with Lego, or any vehicle that came with a figure. If they design the package so that it?s easy to spot any tampering with the briefest inspection, then it?s just business as usual.

I really hope they pick one art style and stick with it. Preferably a vintage ARAH style.
I get some of what they are doing (African American artist and style for Stalker, Native American style and artists for Spirit, etc.) but as a full package they'd look terrible. Kind of curious as to how the stuff in the boxes are doing so far. Those Love and Thunder cheaper figures at least don't seem to have their boxes smashed. Then again, they also don't seem to sell - they're on clearance at two Targets I went to already. |
