So I've been wanting a space station playset/diorama for my Star Brigade/Mega Marines and did a lookup a few months back on some space related action figures playset and came across the STARCOM line and saw the Starcom Starbase Station and thought it would be cool to get for my Joes only to realize they are not the same scale, the Starcom figures are way too small for Joe Scale, so you know me, I just do what I want, so I built one...in 1/18 Joe Scale, here's the results...It's 3 feet in length and the platforms elevate like the original toy, features include laser weapons that can traverse and elevate, elevator lift that can go up and down and has the MAGNALOCK feature, computer control station which also has the MAGNALOCK feature and tilting computer monitors, triple fuel storage station, manned rotating gun station that can be moved to three different areas on the station or be totally removed and attached on top of stand as a separate landing defensive position and yes it's a Star Brigade Armorbot head . Flint Rocks if you see this, just want you to know, you were my inspiration with your best of the 80s custom action figures.

Nice! Always fun seeing what innovative ideas people come up with for cross-overs between toy lines, and this one doesn't disappoint. I, too, want to know how you made it: scratch built from materials found in craft and home improvement stores, or a 3D print of items that matched your needs for this...

Thanks Tofffeeman, Its made mostly stuff from greebles, I'm not really a fan of 3D print even though there are some advantages for applying 3D print on some things like multiple parts but I just don't use it. Some of the items I used to make this project was a Plastic Milk Crate, Aluminum Track Lighting Bar, Plastic Boards, Plastic Vitamin Bottles, Bottle caps, VHS parts, and metal plates (my favorite piece) because it adds the MAGNALOCK feature just like on the original toy
Thanks Itchweed Quote:

This is a fantastic playset/diorama for Star Brigade/Mega Marines! You got some skill and a generous dose of innovation. There is no way of telling that this is made of greeble. Excellent work all around!

My buddy loves that Starcom base, he always points it out to me whenever he sees it listed somewhere.
But just WOW! Seeing the finished product, both modes and then reading through the parts list......super inventive and all kinds of badass! Every part of this is impressive and perfectly shows off how creative you are with your customs. Glad this all came together for you and love seeing it shown off with some Star Brigade guys because that group definitely could have used an official playset!

Holy MacGyver-in-1:18-scale Batman!!!
Edit: adding to my comment to be a bit clearer, that is to say… Holy bottle caps Batman! You made this out of NOTHING!!! VHS parts and vitamin bottles!?? You truly are a MacGyver and I’m always happy to see that you’ve posted. Quote:
