Today's new profile is the 1993 Keel Haul:
https://forgotten--figures.blogspot....keel-haul.html A straight repaint of a 1985 mold was pretty rare in the '90's. But, this figure offered a chance for many to get their only figure for Keel Haul.

Today's quick write up is about the 1994 Flint:
https://forgotten--figures.blogspot....os-of-day.html This figure is a worthy version of Joe's best character. (I'm biased!) I bought two of them at retail and still enjoy getting the figure out for photos.

Airtight not being an Eco Warrior is a pretty major oversight.

This is an awesome version of Flint. I had to double check, I have the version with the unpainted straps on the legs. I remember finding Flint, Shipwreck, Metal-Head, Dial-Tone, and Viper at a TRU in December near Christmas time. I had to get Flint and Shipwreck that night because they were so cool.

Today's mini profile looks at the Brazilian Abutre Negro figure:
https://forgotten--figures.blogspot....os-of-day.html This is one of the more famous international Joes and is also one os the stronger designs among foreign exclusives.

Too sparse for nothing in terms of releases. Hasbro’s playing it safe because the vocal Joe collectors that might have asked for those sorts of foreign concepts remade have largely drifted away from the hobby. You are among the few of the “old guard” still hanging around it seems.
And I find it frustrating as well. Hasbro’s making these o-ring molds from scratch. That, theoretically, means they are NOT beholden to the limits that largely defined the late 90s/early 2000s o-ring uses. There is sufficient information and images to largely be able to recreate a solid chunk of the newly designed figures for Battle Corps Rangers and Ninja Commandoes. They would be, effectively, NEW figures to a vast number of fans (and probably justify the $20 a pop Hasbro’s charging for the things) But nope. Got to drip feed the same old stuff just like every time Hasbro dusts off the brand…

I'm constantly flabergasted at how few current collectors were around even in the early 2000's.

Today's new profile is the Funskool Spearhead:
https://forgotten--figures.blogspot....spearhead.html This figure is based on the Night Force figure and creates a much cheaper alternative for a darker and more useful Spearhead figure.
