But it seems it does not release until March 23. Anyone know for sure? I wasn't sure I was even going to read this issue as I'm not a fan of the artist but I'll at least read the preview. Larry's doing some more retconning of the Oktober Guard, which I'm fine with. Does anyone else miss it when angle brackets (< and >) were used to designate a foreign language? I find it weird to read Oktober Guard dialogue without them. I don't think I've seen them used in the IDW run but they were commonplace at Marvel. Lastly, I think there's a typo on the last page of the preview ("it might by rough" instead of "it might BE rough")? |

I love the OG, but Larry blew it…and has attempted to double and now triple down on it. :(

I'd much rather be reading about Zarana & Zandar than the OG. They've never had truly proper development together, and if it doesn't happen before ARAH ends, it probably never will.

A better way to bring back the Oktober Guard would've been to create new characters.

Even beyond Larry's (major) goof, whoever the editor was at the time messed up even more. How difficult is it to say "Uh, Mr. Hama? The Oktober Guard is dead. It happened in Special Missions issue 26. It had one of THE best covers of the entire Marvel run. Remember? And remember Sneak Peek?"

But it seems it does not release until March 23. Anyone know for sure? They should have just stuck with the new ones and surviving old ones, such as : Lt. Gorky, Misha, Big Bear, New leader Red Star ( Cpt. Kremov ) Diana Dragonosky Ruslan Malyenkiy Bring in Wong too

I looked at the preview and couldn't bring myself to read the text. It's just total dreck. The story, the art, the words - just hot garbage. Somehow Larry couldn't remember he killed off most of the Guard. If that's not a red flag of cognitive decline (or general callousness) I don't know what is. GI Joe has such rich character depth and backstory that in the right hands it could be fun and maybe even relevant again. Larry deserves credit for the mythos he helped to create. But he also should be called out for the desecration of the franchise. Ret con the IDW run and get someone competent to write the series who can be serious but add a light touch of humor the way Larry could when he was on his game. And please, no marxist ideologue who wants to make GI Joe an identity politics playground. We've had enough of those jokers as well.

Yeah the ‘cyber guard’ suck. I just what the same level of awesome storytelling in each issue not months and months of crap.

I kept thinking that SnakeEyes was going to be back as something like the winter soldier that the Joes would fight to get him and his mind back. Scarlett, Stalker, and Tommy on a personal level fighting for their brother in arms and Scarlett for the man she loves! But no more robo-ninjas...ugh.
