RAM getting slightly unseated can cause computer to not boot. Just have to open it and take the RAM out and put it firmly back in until it clicks into place and try again and again until it works.

^Also true. There are so many things that can cause the problem and no great way to tell which one it is until you start pulling parts.

I have had a request to build a replacement nose cone for the modern-era Skystriker to give it a more accurate (pointy) appearance. I have a first draft printed to see how it fits...
From the top view, it's not bad: From the side view? Ehhhh: I need to address the pitch and give it a curved sloping from the side view. Not terrible for a first crack at it, but lots of adjustment left to do...

Latest print of the Tanis map room is just about finished:
I would have been done already except I am suddenly having trouble getting this building to print without snapping off at least one pillar on one side or the other: If at first you don't succeed...

Thanks! I continue to be pleased with my results on my Ender 3 Pro. It's never going to match the surface finish and finest detail of resin printers of course, but it does a pretty respectable job with whatever I throw at it. Can't beat it for the price point as far as I'm concerned. Even if resin printing becomes less toxic to the point that I can finally accept one into my home, this Ender will still have a place in my "workshop."
On a related note, I finally got a clean print of the little building with all the pillars, so this Tanis map room set is out the door as of today! All together it takes a little over a week of continuous printing to create one of these sets since I keep my layer height so small (even on the stairs and stone slab assembly). So it's a large investment of machine time every time I make one. It's really nice to see it all together once it's done though. I feel a little like a kid again every time I go to pack one of these sets up for shipping.

I am pleased to report to anyone who is thinking about it that I placed a big order with Zap for some custom parts for my Skystrikers. They have arrived in the UK in perfect condition and I cannot wait to get started upgrading my squadrons.
I completely recommend him to everyone. Thank you Zap for the enormous effort you put into this. |
