Got my shipping notice this week! According to the shipping tracker, I should finally have my Larry Hama figure on Saturday! Looking forward to it. This will also be my first Fresh Monkey/Eagle Force-style figure. So, I'll be curious how the figure and parts look in-hand compared to Marauders.

I'm sure it's not the place for this, but I just plain don't like Larry Hama. Dude was a total asshole to me for no reason.

It was awhile back on that awful cesspool we call Facebook. He was posting his autograph and sketch rates around some Joe groups. He'll do (or would do, been a little while) autographs through the mail for $50 as opposed to free at cons. But, I guess he wasn't paying attention before he posted, and he wound up saying he'd do sketches through the mail for his autograph rate.
I suspect I wasn't the only person to message him about a sketch, but he sent a real rude reply about not doing Joe stuff at home and how much he can sell a sketch for on eBay and yadda yadda yadda. He edited and corrected his post the same day. I get it was a mistake and all that, but I was just really put off by the "my Joe sketches go for $1400, minimum, on eBay!" thing. Just thought the guy was being super generous to the fans or something. I've had a few "famous people" encounters over the years, and that's the only negative one I've experienced. |

It could be that he's just getting weird in his old age. The fans are also super strange now compared to back in the day - there weren't so many outlets to whine on. |

That's odd. A friend of mine had him do a sketch for me at a con and sign it, oh about five years ago I guess. I have no idea what he paid, but I can guarantee it wasn't anywhere close to $1400.

Nah, his con price is reasonable. He said that in reference to doing sketches and mailing them out. I'm not sure about eBay prices on his sketches, but I do get his point. I just think he shoulda been nicer since it was sorta his mistake that prompted the exchange in the first place. No biggie tho. Just one of those weird things that I'll always remember when he comes up!
