Totally! And that same fun seemingly enjoyed by all involved now translates to us being able to share in that fun even as adults as well.

It's a rare gift to keep a kid entertained and still fly one right over the top of their head, so years later they'll realize how much funnier the scenes were without feeling insulted or "dumbed down." |

That 5-episode mini-series format predicted the streaming format. Case in point, Boba Fett is only 7-episodes.

It's a fun miniseries, but I'd say character use is worse in Pyramid of Darkness compared to other miniseries. This is where Green Shirts get heavy use. Previous minis, you could see who was on what mission. PoD, it's 3 or 4 characters and some nobodies. And why Admiral Ledger and not Keel-Haul? Cobra has this, too. Who is Colonel Slash? They had enough named Cobra toy characters to use, like Scrap-Iron or Firefly (does he even appear in PoD?), but invented one (and his mute assistant).
Where's our Colonel Slash, Satin, Fatal Fluffy, and Snakeling worker figures? I know, I know, Super 7. |

Different points of contact didn't bother me, and I could see "frontier" posts having characters that CC didn't like assigned to them. Most westerns seem to work that way, working their way up the ladder to the better villains. Satin was also a Sunbow character. Odd, though, I believe Scarlett appears on the space station and in the PIT at various times. |

Ha. Admiral Ledger. The man wasn't a fan of women aboard his ship. 😉

After Lady Jaye was onboard, claimed she wasn't bad luck, and got Flint to double-down for her, Cobra succeeded in turning on the pyramid and they had to put-up sails to move again. Maybe the Vice-Admiral wasn't completely wrong? |

I think the reason for green shirts and such, this mini-series is apart of the series proper in production I believe and operates under more constraints perhaps in terms of budget and time (as opposed to MASS and Revenge). So, the visuals are scaled down compared to the prior two mini-series. Some of the humor is also hit and miss.
I do like: Twins and Dreadnoks double crossing and taking control. Baroness and Destro made an official couple. Alpine, Bazooka and Quick Kick are a fun three stooges type team. GIJoe HQers being destroyed is cool. Satin is a nice bondgirl like character. Singer, tragic past involving her father, has it all. Never gonna complain about Shipwreck getting focus. The 5 part format in which Cobras super weapon acts as a means to create globetrotting action feels like it had peaked though and the Twins' battle rocket felt like a brief padding at the end. I do recall an interview with Buzz I believe where he talked about one movie script being very much in this format, things Cobra needs to get action here and there, and feeling like GIJoe the Movie couldn't just redo that. |
