I can't wrap my mind around the prices Hasbro is charging now. A Hasbro Joe or Star Was figure 1:18 figure is running around $14 a pop now. Even with inflation (according to usinflationcalculator.com), the figures should be around $8.50. Certainly not over $10.
That's too much money to drop on new figures - for me - to customize. But I'm eager to see what you can do with them, especially the new bits and pieces Hasbro makes. Dollar Tree has 5 POA action figures that cost $1. They're well done for what they are. The ReAction figures are $18 each, also featuring 5 POA. This is where the train goes off the rail. There's no middle ground between those prices? Last night I saw the SpinMasters The Batman figures, which cost right about $8.50 at Target. So there's one company trying to do things right. |

That?s true, probably smarter to wait & grab a busted up figure from the dollar bin when I hit a toy show. Right now my plan for the new o rings are to fill in for the expensive vintage figures that I?m missing. The v1 Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow pack is set to be delivered today so really looking forward to them since I never had those versions. Then v1 Cobra Commander is my most anticipated because I?ve never gotten one of those either.
I saw those Batman figures and was tempted by the Penguin for a big bodied custom. Ultimately passes though.

H&R, I picked up The Penguin and Selina Kyle figures because they look great. They also look like toys made 30 years ago, and I mean that in a good way.
Itchweed, thanks! One more to go and I'll be done with completing/correcting the SaSF set. |
