The "fortune & glory" thing is a bit off, too, but that could be due to it being a different phase in the character's arc. If you put everything in chronological order that actually makes a measure of sense. Quote:
And I agree, LaBeouf was definitely being overused back then. Quote:
As far as Indy 5 goes, since Disney is behind it, I'm not gonna see it. |

That's interesting, I could definitely see that. I still think that the relative lack of skepticism toward the Sankara stones is a bit out of character compared to Indy in Raiders and Crusade. (Since it's a prequel, the Sankara stones magic is also a continuity issue with Raiders, given Indy's attitude toward the supernatural in the first film.)

The aliens were actually George Lucas' idea dating back from '92ish when Harrison made his appearance on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Basically Lucas reasoned that sice the films set in the 30s hearkened back to 30s adventure serials, the one set in the 50s should hearken back to 50s serials, which were mostly about space and aliens. Ford and Spielberg both resisted the idea at first, if I recall correctly, but George is nothing if not persistent, so eventually he got his way.
It was a lot of pressure to put on a kid, so I can't say I'd have done any better than him. Quote:
I'm not part of the Disney cult either. |

Yeah, I've heard some vague mention of that. Decided not to look into it too much. Like you say, hopefully he realizes how much he's got to be thankful for. |

Raiders by a long way. I saw it in the Indiana Theater in Terre Haute. It was one of the last old time Theater's that still had a stage and balcony. Sitting up there made you feel closer to the action. Just a great experience that people don't have anymore. Plus the face melting still gets me, even though the effects are dated.

ROTLA for me. The others were good but this one just spoke to me differently.

Nostalgia TEMPLE OF DOOM, because it was one of the few movies I saw at the cinema that year.
Story, Raiders has the only great story of them all. I read that Belloq might have returned for the second film, since it was a prequel, but they went a different direction. One thing I don't understand is why there were so few of the movies. The stories weren't that hard to come with, but they acted it was since Crystal Skull was sort of a mess. And of course, it's impossible to top the Ark of the Covenant in terms of fantastic artifacts. |
