Sunbow Scarlett rocks. Wouldn't be surprised if she's one of the next to get a Sunbow style O-ring figure, though the render on pilot Scarlett looks like her original head, so maybe no ponytail.

Comics Destro and Baroness aren't so good. Neither seems to bring out anything much unique or interesting in the other, and both characters have gotten progressively more and more watered down. Baroness went from efficient and ruthless to confused and weak. Destro went from being ruthless but "honorable" to following Baroness around like a puppy. Both characters started out great and got downright terrible. Quote:
TBH I find it tiresome that there's this need across Joe media and the community to put every female character in a relationship. Maybe it's a consequence of there being so few female characters, mostly male writers, and a disproportionately male fanbase. But it's dumb and not reflective of the way people actually behave in the real world.
That said, the Destro/Baroness relationship might be the one that bothers me the least XD |

Sunbow Baroness and Destro are awesome. Episodes like Eau de Cobra, Skeletons in the Closet and Last Hour to Doomsday give a lot of insight into how messed up their relationship is, which makes them the perfect counterpoint to Flint and Lady Jaye. And they use that relationship to strengthen the characters with moments like Baroness literally burning Destro's house down. Comics Destro and Baroness aren't so good. Both characters started out great and got downright terrible. That's another reason why Cover Girl's awesome. There may be some tension with Shipwreck or even Duke, but she's not there to get dates. At least not in Sunbow or marvel. His background in Sunbow was that he was just some random Navy guy they found in a Cobra town, and they recruited him. What did they expect? |

MASS Device Cover Girl was a benefit to the team ... then they changed her hair and promoted LJ over her. The comics seem to use her only for her physique now, but I like how she was "introduced" by saving some Joes from drowning in IDW canon. |

CC is that guy who is too ambitious to notice anything else going on. Subconsciously pulling himself up by his bootstraps because he is too obsessed with his vision to acknowledge defeat. The only way to deal with them is to kill them, but in CC's case he still has that sense of self preservation, so that's doubly dangerous.

Or... Haha, he is more fun than any Bond villain. |

It always felt like Shipwreck was palling around rather than being a lecher by the way he delivered his lines, like the woman in question was in on the joke. The only exception was the one time Scarlett elbowed him, and even that felt like "stop being silly, this isn't the time to goof off".

Oh, man. If Super7 does an Ultimate Scarlett, I'm toast! I can resist that great-looking Lady Jaye, but I don't think I'll be able to pass up Destro and Scarlett in Sunbow at that scale. Hasbro has the most hideous sculpts for Scarlett. Even the Renegades Scarlett figure looked better than any of the ARAH, though Retro was good I passed her up because I'd just bought another variation.

I do wish writers would emphasize the tanker/mechanic side of Cover Girl. They seem to ignore that a lot these days. Man, I really want to see a scene like that in a live action movie. |

Liz Aubrey did a fine job. I think she's turned up in other animated series that I've seen. I agree about seeing the tanker/gearhead side of CG ... plus, that would make her look hotter than most of the poses they put her in. I can't remember the show where the guy goes to throw his chair out the window, but the glass is safety glass so the chair bounces back and knocks him down. That would also fit CC well. |

Say that the comic gets picked up by a new publisher who decides to restructure the team and retire both Hawk and Duke. Slaughter is gone too. It's been nearly 40 years since most of the file cards were produced. Surely some of the characters have advanced in authority and skillsets.
Who do you pick for the command and second-in-command positions? |

A good amount of it involves his time at TSR games as well, so if you ever played any D&D, it would probably be doubly interesting. Having said that, I know almost nothing about D&D, RPGs in general, or TSR in particular, and I still found those parts of the book fascinating.
