I think this is like the old Mattycollector He-Man line. They saved quite a few characters (and spread them out over years) to keep interest in the line and keep people engaged. I kinda feel like that's what is happening with Shipwreck. I also pretty much guarantee we will see multiple versions of Shipwreck like we did in the past.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.

With a non-subscription model, there's really no reason for Hasbro to hold anyone back. So far they haven't. With a few minor exceptions, it's mostly been pretty widely known characters.

Hasbro?s just trying to balance a mix of popular characters, a mix of diverse concepts (the OG13 are a popular subset, but when released together make for a bland mix of figures on shelves), and some deep cuts as a sign of commitment to the line. But given the relative pace of releases for a 6? line?.people will have to be patient. EVERYONE has favorites that haven?t been done yet. Reportedly, Falcon is hitting sooner, rather than later, but Snow Job is still MIA. Come to think of it, the line is REALLY underrepresented in ?specialists? like Snow Job, Wetsuit, Dusty (reportedly coming later this year) and Cobra equivalents like Crimson Guard, Eels and Snow Serpents. Much less major characters like Hawk and Serpentor.

I don't know Jayman. My patience wears thin. I'm thinking of characters that we may not see return in the o-ring revival or the Super7 that I may go ahead and purchase off of ebay and my fellow Tankers. I've been able to cut a few good deals so far right at $20 a pop.

Only a few characters I'm really really dying to see, one is Shipwreck, but mostly I'm up for whatever Hasbro wants to give priority to. Assuming they mix it up with core and less-core selections. So many great characters, I don't much care if Recondo comes before Scrap Iron who comes before Iron Grenadiers who comes before Eels. Whatever. The fact we're getting Tomax & Xamot, Crimson Guard, Dusty and Zarana this year...I'm already pretty good with the plan Hasbro's got.

The issue isn't IF we'll get a Shipwreck figure, but WHEN. In my informal poll of characters that fans most want to see in Classified Series Shipwreck is by far and away the most wanted figure that fans want to see in the line.
The proper question ask isn't whether we're going to get Shipwreck, but what version of Shipwreck will we get? A minority of us (myself included,) want to see the first version of Shipwreck released as a modern update of the figure because v1 Shipwreck is in a dated Navy working uniform from the 80's that is no longer in service. Then there's the issue of the licensing fee and Hasbro still shying away from having the JOEs be U.S. military. In the case of Shipwreck he is undoubtedly a petty officer in the U.S. Navy and does Hasbro have pay the Navy a licensing fee to in order get v1 inspired Shipwreck in Classified. Arguments that Hasbro doesn't have to pay a licensing fee because the Navy doesn't use that uniform anymore and it's a public domain type of situation or the argument can be made that you can't you trademark a blue shirt and dungarees. As Valaverse and Hasbro have shown with the Marine utility cover as long as the cover doesn't have an E. G. A. on it you can put out an eight pointed cap and not pay a licensing fee. The thing is with the Dixie cup cap that cap is probably the most recognizable part of the seaman's uniform and is synonymous with the Navy. I'm going to guess that in order for Hasbro to use Dixie cup cap they're going to have to pay the licensing fee to the Navy and maybe they decided to do so in regards to Shipwreck

Shipwreck will be a real interesting decision for the design team - go completely faithful to the original, or the updated sweater/cap look? I suppose both are possible, but personally as much as I love OG Shipwreck, I could do without the sailor cap/bell bottoms look for Classified.
