I bring this up because some of the biggest issues with both new-sculpt and ME figures wasn't so much their design direction as it was their wildly inconsistent and ever-changing proportions and seemingly poor quality control. And while returning to o-ring figures is thrilling to some, doing so doesn't exactly solve these issues outright.

I def want tons of o-ring joes released. However, while I do want some of them exact (storm shadow, which we're getting). I don't want every release to be an exact replica. I'd like to see some twists thrown in there. I love o-ring design but I personally wouldn't mind a splash of modern on them. Pistol holsters that are functional, slightly more realistic faces. things like that. maybe 75% o-ring style and 25% ME styling. just my personal feelings.

Maybe release red and yellow ground crew, but without the flashlight accessories. Done!
Edit: I noticed the wording on the Haslab description Quote:
These newly created HasLab o-ring Pit Crew action figures bring you back to where G.I. Joe began with design and deco exclusive to this project
Also, notice they didn't say the figures themselves were exclusive to Haslab. Just the "design and deco". Reading the Ripcord description it sound like just the Night Force color variant is exclusive. For Scarlett I think the whole figure is exclusive. Last edited by sharky; 12-08-2021 at 04:57 PM.. |

I don't expect anymore announcements until Toy Fair time in February.

Changing the style of the o-ring line would completely defeat the purpose of an o-ring line. The nostalgia revolves around the original aesthetic of the figures, not that there was a rubber band holding them together.

One major characteristic that distinguishes the classic o-ring era (with the exception of some Ninja Force / Star Brigade / Mega Monsters) and the new-sculpt (02-06) and ME eras, and reinforces our nostalgic connection to them is the consistency and kitbash-ability of the standard o-ring figure components. That's not something that's in any way intrinsic to their composition (exhibit A: new-sculpt o-rings), but it reflects that the brand had a consistent direction and design philosophy for a remarkably long time, something that later eras lacked.
I bring this up because some of the biggest issues with both new-sculpt and ME figures wasn't so much their design direction as it was their wildly inconsistent and ever-changing proportions and seemingly poor quality control. While I have to agree about the negativity (at least as it relates to GI Joe as I believe he actually gave a big thumbs up to MOTU Origins), I do feel the stop motion skits he has in his reviews are pretty damn funny. The GI Joe HQ and MOTU Snake Mountain come to mind. So I do think he has a knack for comedy writing and editing.
