The walmart Lady Jaye and baroness were from almost 10 years ago with that fancy face painting this time around.
https://toys.hisstank.com/gi-joe-50t...roness-3-14419 The crazy part? They were $14.99 and were almost peg warmers then...separate them, charge 13 a piece and they move, apparently. Secondly, that?s Hasbro?s tactic for the G.I. Joe brand. Don?t release anything for awhile. When they do release something, no matter how shi++y it is we buy it anyway. Hasbro knows that there are some Joe Collectors that?ll buy anything with ?G.I. JOE? stamped on it. Just look at all the licensed G.I. Joe stuff that?s out there. Yeah, we had the Snake Eyes movie. But, I don?t remember this much (Non Hasbro) Joe merchandise during Rise of Cobra and Retaliation.

Super7 is making the ultimate figures but they are the wrong scale. Then if they do make them in the right scale they have the wrong articulation! :(

B) I don?t consider these Ultimates, they are just cartoon representations. C) Some of us want an Ultimate Duke (ME/POC) FOUR INCHES for our collection that we have been building for the past 14 years.

Some of the blame can be placed on pricing. Regardless of whether its Hasbro's or Walmart's fault, that $12.99 price-point is just fucking stupid, as it limits the amount the average Joe fan can "army-build." But even at a seven, eight, nine or ten dollar price, there's a natural limit to how much they can sell due to the small pool of consumers. Face it gang, not only is the Joe fanbase too small to support a mass retail line, but the action figure market itself is hitting the skids. It's mainly just adults fucking about with figures now, and without enough kids buying 'em too, we're probably gonna start seeing mass retail action figure lines become a thing of the past. I'm on record the Haslab Skystriker won't fund (I'd like to be proven wrong though), and I'm fairly confident it won't because the numbers just aren't there. After you remove the people who are bitching about the price, there's not enough of us to fund the damn thing. Same thing here: a mass retail Joe 4" line isn't viable because there's not enough of us buying.

I'd settle for 1 ME figure per quarter exclusive from HasbroPulse so there's no middleman for them to split profits with. I doubt GI Joe gets much random in-store impulse purchases. My Walmart still has like 10x Stalker and who knows if it's because those have eyes looking too far to the side QC issues. |

I doubt we'll see it soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did move to something like this in a few years.
My guess is Hasbro - like every other hard goods producer who has relied on big box retail and global supply chains for half a century - is in a bit of a crisis right now given how much the pandemic blew up everything, from the cost and availability of materials, to the cost of labor, to the stability of global trade, to the future of brick-and-mortar retail, to Amazon, to the nostalgia-craze driven by suddenly aging millennials with disposable income, to freaking crypto and meme stocks for christ's sake. I think they might be scrambling right now. But hopefully they'll find their footing again. |

Here's my unsolicited opinion/observation on this shit: Joe fans are weird, for sure, but we're also a relatively tiny group of consumers. We'll pay dumb secondary market prices when something first hits, or after it's long gone, but when it's available in real quantities at retail (and below) prices, the demand dries up and we see a lot of peg-warming. Here's what I mean, right now on walmart.com and in walmart stores Stalker, Grunt, Cobra Trooper and Officer are available in apparently large numbers.

But weren't the current 6" and 4" Hasbro GI Joe team people big time GI Joe fans?

That?s the one thing I miss about JoeCon. Hanging out with the Hasbro guys, just talking to them you could feel the love they had for the brand. Heck, Hyundai(I think) even used stuff from Derryl DePriest?s own collection in a commercial. Hasbro had the perfect team on the Joe brand back then.
