Maybe Retro means O-ring now? I don't think we will get any more Retro LJ and Baroness as those were produced in China. They no longer make these figures in China now, and they probably didn't ship the molds to Vietnam. Maybe this is just extra stock that has been on a ship for a year or so? Who knows. Can you post of pic of the info on the kiosk next time?
Thanks. I don't see why Hasbro completely discontinues China tooling just because they are also using Vietnam tooling. Do they have a one country exclusive manufacturing deal? |

I believe you can find the same 3rd party seller search results for Walmart's 4" Retro via Target.com as well as on Amazon.

It has not been announced officially by Hasbro, but there is an overall knowledge (suggested by some of the mods on here and by youtuber's with some inside knowledge) that the POC molds were destroyed as no one at Hasbro asked the factory to keep them. Factories will melt down old molds if they are not being used, so they can make new molds. So they can't make those POC figures anymore. That's one of the reasons why the Vietnam made figures have completely new builds.

The Walmart 4" Lady Jaye and Baroness were just from maybe last year.
Since the tooling is expensive to make, I would have guessed they wouldn't dispose of them so willy nilly especially if it's a good character. I wonder if some rich collector would buy the tooling if given a chance to. |

They were $14.99 and were almost peg warmers then...separate them, charge 13 a piece and they move, apparently. |

50th was so freaking weird man. The first two years had some of my absolute favs (Leatherneck, Gung-Ho, Heavy Duty, Heat Viper, '88 SS) plus re-releases and updates of some key figures I had missed from prior years (Blowtorch, Low-Light, Alpine, Ultimate SE), and a few new releases that I really liked as well (Shooter, Stiletto, Tombstone, Sightline). But it definitely started to feel like a corporate cash-grab pretty quick (celebrating the 50th anniversary for... 3 years? a few years after you just celebrated the.. 30th??) and there were way too many poor kitbashes and sloppy repaints. And, naturally, ended with a whimper.
So of course, a few years later they decide to take all the wrong lessons from 50th and do it all over again with Retro XD
