Now days this is actually easier than ever given the success of indie models of differing types. The downside to this type of crowdfunding to get the license is that Hasbro would likely not want to sell the license to a ragtag band of individuals as opposed to a business. (even a poorly run one like most established comics publishers are now) Just too many uncertainties from a contractual standpoint. We'd likely have to become an LLC and then contract out the creative, publishing and distribution. It's all doable, but getting Hasbro to bite would be the hardest part, imo.

Archie Comics is still kicking around nowadays.
Last I checked, they still feature hetero relationships in 2021. |

It's been a long time since I read, how open a Christian? Because Chuck Dixon, who wrote the 3 miniseries and first 100 solo issues, has actually admitted to thinking of Tim as Jewish.
I hate the idea of changing established characters to fit current narratives. We had over 30 years of reading Tim's thoughts and narration boxes. He was straight, but if anything, driven. Oh well. In other words, you find religion pretty quick in Gotham. |

As for the actual topic... I approve of the passion project idea, but you'd take a bath financially on it. I don't think a "small company comes out of nowhere to snag a license" thing would work anymore. There'd be echoes of Dreamwave for one thing, and Hasbro doesn't want to repeat THAT experience ever again....

The 25th Anniversary comics are listed on Yojoe.com has having been published by Hasbro. Couldn't Hasbro publish the Joe comics moving forward?

I'm not certain that Hasbro could create comic books for action figure two packs anymore, because each panel and page would have to be printed in five languages!

https://www.yojoe.com/comics/hasbro-...ies-2008-2009/ If they can sell the license to someone, bonus for them, no work to deal with, just sweet money |
