That makes sense, and they probably should and probably will, for the purposes of this current vintage Retro O-Ring line, simply recreate the figures as they were in 1982 and 1983.
But I would still, at some point, love to see some truly new things, in a general O-Ring style, 3-34" format. But, maybe not yet. I'd be down for some new o-ring figures down the line on 2 conditions. 1. they don't come at the expense of reissues of the originals, and 2. they make them in a way that they can blend seamlessly with vintage ARAH figures. |

Yes, the only thing that was actually recalled about that Roadblock was the spinny blade launcher thing. The figure itself was reissued with generic weapon tree accessories.

I cannot imagine Hasbro investing the money to recreate all the original characters' tooling for more than just a few select main characters during their dip back into o-ring.

It all depends on how well it does next year. I can't see them going much past 1986, other than the subgroups and later army builders.

Main characters + easy repaints like Tiger Force and Night Force unless the line blows away Hasbro's projections.
Rip Cord made the cut because he goes with the Skystriker theme. |

Sort of like investing the money to create brand-new tooling for the original 13 but only releasing Stalker and Grunt? Yeah I can't imagine Hasbro doing that either ;)

Emily did say that they are planning to "go big" with the o-ring line, so whatever that means specifically, I don't think going "big" would be limiting things to just a few years. During the Classified section of the pulse panel, they referred to the Joe lineup as being very diverse, with all sorts of characters and designs, and that they want this Classified line to reflect that too. I can imagine the o-ring team taking a similar approach, so I can't imagine why they would limit the o-ring line to 1982-1986... that wouldn't make sense. As long as the line is popular with fans, and they vote with their wallets, I feel we're likely to see many figures past 1986.
