^ Yes. Wheels and Wings are separate mechanisms.
In terms of mass appeal I agree. Skystriker was a smart choice. In terms of fan service a newly tooled WHALE would have generated more buzz here. |

The figures look like crap. I wanted the Walmart line to be o-ring because it would be a cool homage to the original main character figures on the old cards, and it's preferable to rereleasing modern figures that were already out recently. I didn't need an o-ring line to delve into minor or obscure figures, or make all-new ones. These figures are pretty useless to a collection unless we get through another 50-100 classic o-ring rehashes. And I don't think I want to collect a giant o-ring line like that. I would've been open to considering o-ring construction on new, more modern, more detailed sculpts. But making the most detailed, premium Skystriker ever and packing it with plain-looking, low-detail, early '80s sculpts is a bad idea.

"The cockpit isn’t the only feature to get an update. There are all new functioning landing levers, one for landing gear and one for wings, swappable black tail fins to match the packaging art, a useable tow hook, and multiple options for dog bone pins to customize weapon load out." |

Just now noticed that fuel wagon and ammo cart are modified from the ones that came with the USS Flagg. And it's over 2700 now, wonder if it'll hit 3000 tonight.

It's already doing better than Unicron less than a day in. |

They said that the build quality is a lot better than the previous Skystriker, so that implies a new tooling.
As for "dream project"... they have to balance that with having a reasonable chance of hitting their goals, usually about 10K. Something more niche might have more passion behind it, but as the old saying goes a passionate vote counts the same as an apathetic one. 2500 passionate backers, of, I dunno, a new DEMON vs 10000 Skystriker backer would mean Hasbro would go with the second every time. Again I hope it does better then expected so Haslab will fo more Joe stuff. I just hope the next one isn’t a 1/18th Awe striker and Hiss with a couple of o-ring figures. I’m sure there is new tooling in here. I’m just not sure it’s not simply the accent pieces and seats. The 2011 Skystriker is in like 3 parts, cockpit, body and wings. Not sure if you can tell from prototype if those are new tooling. Better build quality could mean better plastic. |

Backed one SS so far. Will probably back at least one more.
I like that they added the co pilot. I just always thought that was Airborne sitting back there. I'd love to get that Ripcord and deck crew for my FLAGG. Hope it does well and we see more O Rings. Hate to see this thing pull a Cookie Monster.

I do not want a FLAGG ever again. I had one.
They're obnoxiously space consuming. For a select few only at seven fucking feet. |

How does this Skystriker compare in size to the original?
