Ha - I loved how they went deep sea diving in scuba gear. And I also agree on everyone being able to handle every kind of vehicle.
A couple of my other favorites:

In Revenge of Cobra, they're definitely contrasting between the duo's fighting styles, philosophies and outlooks before forcing them to work together. It's also worth noting that Revenge came out in 1984, and since it takes a long time to write, cast and produce cartoons, especially back then, chances are very, very good that the Revenge of Cobra was written well before Issue 21 made SE and SS inseparable.
*As an aside, I've always found it interesting that while Snake Eyes appears to have something vaguely like ninja tabi on his feet on the cover of #21, but in the actual interior art he goes through the entire adventure wearing jackboots, in a sort of weird prefiguration of his v3 costume... Quote:

Before the whole comics backstory in issues 26/27 there was no reason SS couldn't be just Japanese and not Japanese-American (Though I don't really recall anything about it in the show either way.) There's nothing in the file card about his birthplace or nationality or anything. Sunbow definitely would've had their SS in place before 26 and 27.

Timber is a highly intelligent, very tame, sociable, and friendly wolf. He would have been perfect for Leterman's Stupid Pet Tricks being that he can dance and operate hand car. As somebody noted in another tape. How did the JOEs learn Timber's name?
I've come to the conclusion that in the Sunbow continuity by the time in events in The Pyramid Of Darkness take place Destro is a part of COBRA Command and is C.C.'s second in command. Destro thinks that Zartan's skin condition is the funniest shit. Destro and Zartan don't get along. Zartan is the true "independent contractor," on C. C.'s payroll C.C. has bunch of gold coins laying around. I always thought that Extensive Enterprises, Inc. came out of the Devil's Due or IDW canon, but come to find out Sunbow gave us Extensive Enterprises. In Further The Adventures of G.I. JOE did Ripcord and Breaker do a combat jump? In Amusement Park Of Terror I think C.C. forgave Zartan's treachery just to fuck with Destro. Certain characters can handle freezing cold better than others, (shout to Major Bludd and Quick Kick.) Dusty, Breaker, and Steeler were in the Air Force before joining the Army. Despite the S.H.A.R.C. and the Flagg being featured Deep Six and Adm. Keel Haul weren't in those episodes. In Rendezvous In The City Of The Dead for some reason S.E. and Shipwreck ditch their COBRA uniforms to walk around in a COBRA controlled town in their fatigues, only to get in drag to get out of the COBRA controlled town. Shipwreck mentions Holter. Yes, the 1980's were definitely a different time and place.

Cobra should have used Extensive Enterprises as their corporate name in Renegades. Who would trust a corporation named Cobra?

Honestly, I chuckle to myself every time I read about retaining health benefits through "COBRA" after you are no longer working. Massively inflated costs on short term insurance benefits certainly does seem like a ploy that a terrorist organization might use.

Between that and Reagan's proposed Star Wars program, it's like they're trolling us nerds.

An ultra-elite military organization taking a wolf, a parrot, a rejected Stuntman, and an AWOL sailor on highly classified missions where the fate of the world is at stake kinda deserves to get their butts occasionally kicked by some whistled*ck with a lisp and his S&M disco-loving sidekicks. Or a Michael Bay movie.

The main thing that got me was Cobra would just show up anywhere out of no where. Just roll up on Joe HQ, just flying Rattlers all over the US. Even in the 80's that sort of terrorist shenanigans wouldn't have been allowed. I think the comics did a more realistic approach but hey we were wee little lads so the imagination could run wild.
