No, but I could maybe...MAYBE see Ron Rudat unveiling a Dusty or Leatherneck figure (or both!).

Here's my pipe dream for something like that:
A 4-part boxed set with figures updated similarly to how Mattel has done the Masters Origins line but even better - something so good that both those who want carbon copies of the originals as well as those who want updates will both be ecstatic. Figures are very easy to take apart and swap gear and pieces (a la Joytoy and the aforementioned Masters Origins) The box it comes in is bomb proof and top of the line as far as graphic design and packaging is concerned but still easy to remove and display the figures then put them back. Comes with mail in offer for Stars and Stripes poster. Buy all 4 sets and get the poster free. Offer is done some way that does not encourage theft or return abuse. Sets 1-3 are 4 GI Joes each. Set 4 is 4 Cobra. Case pack is 12 (3x cobra, 3x each Joe). Every retailer opens pre-orders without limits in advance so does Hasbro Pulse. Final retail numbers for in store purchase are made based on presale data to ensure product remains on shelf long enough for the average consumer who does not check toy info online to even know they exist. Pegs will be full for a while and then it will sell through - the retail brick and mortar sales will be the TAIL of the chain where retailers are given good deals for good sized purchases that may stay on shelves a while but will be very profitable out the gate, keep the product in front of consumers, and still be profitable when it's marked down a bit enticing the late comers who have been watching it. Everyone wins. Edit to add, if we're going to dream let's dream bigger. That would be the plan for the first 16 figures of the first quarter 2022. Next quarter is 6 new figures and every quarter thereafter is 6 - for a normal year total of 24 figures per year (34 first year). NO MORE but no less to ensure best quality on each one and every single one is good. That's my product cycle idea and it would need to run 2 years. Companies nowadays seem to axe things if they are not BEYOND expectations. I think the line needs to have clear realistic expectations and continue if it is profitable but not everything needs to exceed expectations or be abandoned for a new project else you are stuck always shifting gears and can never BUILD MOMENTUM. Maybe even go so far as to include extra parts to make exact copies of the straight arm figures and be able switch out waists and arms to have swivel arm variants. Even have that original alternate Zap head or throw in some extra sets of heads for cartoon and comic appearances. |

The question I have is two fold. One, was this intentional, or a slip up before the 23rd. Two, if intentional, what else do they have to show us? |
