You know, I've been thinking about that figure build, and I think it's shit. Hunchbacked and spread-legged. Cool noggin though. Anyway, it's weird they'd reengineer an older mold for a plastic hip-tee. Or maybe not. Maybe it isn't a difficult thing to do. Just seems like you'd have to account for certain things when changing a piece from metal to plastic, especially when that part is fused into plastic.

I don't think it's all that bad, especially for a figure that mostly sits in a tank. It's a good representation (sculpt wise) of the ARAH figure. I like that they created new thighs for this figure. I actually prefer the 25th helmet, as I think it looks closer to the ARAH sculpt, but all in all the retro HISS Driver and Rip-It figure are pretty good.

The upper thigh pieces on the retro hiss Driver were a new sculpt and the engineering was off as slot for the T-bar to fit in was too short, causing him to have a wide stance. The inner thigh is too flat, which also leads to a wider stance.
The plastic T-bar ball on Rip-it is smaller than the metal one. It doesn't fit as well in the thigh socket causing him to have an even wider stance. I love that torso (yes, I know the head is pitched forward and it doesn't bother me as it looks normal when viewing from the front, and in action poses) as it's the same one as the POC CT, but the leg mods really make this figure somewhat of a letdown. I also wish they would go back to the POC CT/shock trooper forearms instead of the ROC Zartan in disguise forearms. They look too outdated. Yes, this figure can fit in a Hiss tank, but he would not fit in any other vehicle (i.e. Stinger). Too much diaper crotch. Why are we taking backwards steps with these Retro builds?

Interesting that Pulse has 445 Cobra Troopers left and Walmart sold out.
Meanwhile Pulse sold out of Officer pre-orders and Walmart still has them. Go figure. |

I'm mostly worried these plastic t-bars will not be very long-lasting or sturdy.

Same with the fortnight figures I own. I’ve had way more elbow joints go on figures of all brands. I don’t think it’s going a big issue.

I have almost every Marvel Universe 4” they made and the only t-bars I ever has snap were ones I had abused during custom making, and we’re talking like 4 out of a couple hundred figures.

I really like the chest gear on both of these figures. I'm hoping some custom resin-cast store like Avac's Lab does some repros of these in different colors. Jason |
