Back in 1987, I was winding down from collecting comics & toys, but was still slightly into ARAH. At some point that year, I remember seeing a couple of issues of the UK-published "Action Force" at my Local Comic Store (LCS). Even though I'm in the U.S., some of the LCS in my area did carry comics published in other countries.
I remember paging through the issues, but never bought/collected the series. I thought it was a intriguing comic, since it was UK-based - but obviously featured the ARAH heroes & villains. And, the series boasted great art & in many cases incredible covers! Recently, I did some research online - and found out that the AF comics were - in many cases - re-done stories that used similar plots & in some cases the same art from the ARAH Marvel comic. However, that didn't make me any less interested in reading these. Apparently, in addition to the re-done Marvel stories there were some completely original comics featuring the ARAH characters. So, now - 30+ years later, I'm getting re-interested in this series - but unfortunately can't find any reprints (i.e., Collected Editions) whatsoever. I suspect this is because of copyright/licensing issues involving the Joe characters, and/or because it was a UK-published comic - or a combination of these issues. In any case, here's hoping that the ARAH "Action Force" issues get reprinted at some point - though I won't be holding my breath. Here are some links with more info. on the series: https://comicvine.gamespot.com/action-force/4050-22813/ https://gijoe.fandom.com/wiki/Action_Force_(weekly)_1 https://britishcomics.fandom.com/wiki/Action_Force Last edited by Doctor Venom; 08-04-2021 at 09:12 PM.. |

BloodfortheBaron.com has most of not all of the comics downloaded for free. I know it's not like holding them, but it does get your fix.

I would strongly prefer paper reprints, but this is obviously the next best thing - especially given that we may never get CE's of these comics. |
