Slim- What are your thoughts on ED? Is he good to play with or just pretty for pictures? |

I think he's decent and pretty much screen accurate, except no articulated toes. Wouldn't mind having a few more.

Yeah, at only $40 I was thinking of getting an extra or two. I'm having a hard time fathoming the price difference between the original $80 PowerLoader versus $40 ED-209 *with electronics*.

In comparison ED-209 was planned with two variants in mind, regular and battle damaged. Shared mold use will drop costs a fair bit. That's also why the battle damaged version is $10 more. I think most folks greatly underestimate the effects paint apps and production volume have on price/unit costs. Plus you'd hope Hiya has become a more efficient company in the intervening years further reducing things like overhead costs. |

I got an ED-209 in from my BBTS PoL yday and I'm quite happy with him for his mere $40 MSRP. I do notice some issues relating to Hiya's overall weird choices in articulation. They give ED very cool ratcheting-length ankle spurs but no proper ankle joints. I don't recall the ratcheting-length spurs working in the the movies; but ankle/toe joints play important plot points in at least one instance and character points another couple points. I didn't get a chance to try a proper listening to the sound chip yet but I know it works. The arm articulation is balls-amazing; very nicely done there, Hiya!
I'd go for a super-deluxe kit with a fully modu-swappable ED with swappable blasted gun-arm, some missile and gunfire effects, and the work station they used in RC1 in the conference room after blasting away at the VP onto the Delta City model. Retool it to have them ankle joints and I'm in. That would be a decent deal at $80, imho. |

Got my reboot figures last week, droids set, silver and black robocop. The droids are cool, actually better then I expected.
Kinda disappointed with the robo figures. The silver is really silver and not the blueish we've seen photos of. Plus the paint apps on the face are really sloppy. Some sections are missing flesh paint. The black one has a rather big blueish mark on the top of the helmet. Don't know if its remains of another brush or a decal. Regardless it won't come easily. Considering the price point these are not worth the $20 or more you pay for them. Quality on these really went down the hill. I had several DC figures and had no issues on that matter. Got 3 Batman figures for example where you have only a partial face to paint just like robocop, and none had major flaws. I think they cut on quality for these ones. That or the ones in China have less control. I ordered these directly from there but I'm expecting 2 more drones and 1 black to arrive locally.

There is the 'drop-down' leg joint like the 6inch Classified Joe line, to make them a little taller.
Drop-down one is on the left.

Those look great. Not sure what a drop down leg joint is, but I am getting this and will figure it out. I like the taller version. Thanks.
