Dude, why are you misquoting the video? That's one of the many reasons (and a very small one at that,) as to why the Declassified is hard to find. The major reason is COVID, (which delayed the release of the Snake Eyes movie,) which was cross marketing to support the line and the lack of self space.

The video was very informative and actually answered my question. There's really no need for people to be a dick about it. It's just the way how things are. That's why I feel we need to move away from the stores because they don't know how to handle certain items and Hasbro really needs to look at offering these products online. They have Hasbro Pulse! Why not sell everything off of there and other online stores?

That was a good video. I never realized the placed those items on a shelf by cost, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro makes more money selling toys to JUST Target than Hasbro Pulse makes in total sales all year. That doesn't even include Wal-Mart/Etc... Also it's kinda funny: I remember when Scott was by all indications one of the most hated guys in the toy business by adult collectors (considering the way people talked about him on forums like this back when he was running MotUC). Time heals all wounds, I guess. Last edited by Jmacq1; 05-17-2021 at 10:21 AM.. |

If you watch the video that I posted on whether or not toys are for kids the internet is the means by which toy manufacturers reach the adult collectors.

Because Hasbro would be bankrupt inside a year or two once they stopped being a retail partner and started being a retail competitor.

I'd rather have difficulty finding them and have to pay more, than shelves peggwarmed with them, knowing that the future of Joe is bleak. Hard to find Joe means a Joe in demand, which means Hasbro might give us another decade.

Nevermind the difficulty in then determining what warrants being a "collectible" and what doesn't. If it pegwarms at retail now, is it a collectible? That's part of the problem with these arguments -- Usually they're centered on throwing the baby out with the bathwater. "I can't get a Cobra Viper so dangit Hasbro should stop selling action figures to Wal-Mart and Target and only sell them through Pulse!" That simply makes no business sense for Hasbro, at all. No it doesn't. The only way to know if JOEs are in demand is if they were selling out under regular circumstances and they had the regular amount of self space. The question is who's buying the figures? Is it parents and gift givers or is it the adult collectors (like me,) who'll pick up a figure we don't have and two COBRA troopers for army building purposes.

Thanks for sharing that vid - very cool to hear how it all works from someone with inside knowledge and experience in the industry. I would have to assume the same logic applies to the retro line as it does to the classified line.
