He sheer size of the Flagg box makes the story highly suspect. Carded retaliation figures are much more believable as the shipping box could have been mixed up with other “stuff.”

Think about the odds of something that big surviving intact all these years. It's crazy when you think about it. I remember back in the late-nineties/early 2000's some guy supposedly found a mint and sealed Flagg in a Toys R Us stockroom. It was on top of the shelving or something like that. That's a nerd's wet dream, right there!
Not quite like finding a Flagg some 10-15 years later, but probably my luckiest ever Joe find. |

I worked the holiday season at a TRU in 2004/05 and found a Spy Troops MCC hiding in the back, which would have been a year or two after it was released. IIRC I paid $40 or so after the employee discount (I think it retailed for $70ish?)

I was deep into Joes (deep since 82) in 85 and recall seeing a fully assembled FLAGG on display at FAO but have 0 memories (my child memories are pretty strong) of seeing that box in the Joe aisle. Does anyone recall if the FLAGG was was a yellow ticket item back at TRU? Unless it was just something I knew I could never have in my small, inner city/Brooklyn house and so paid it no mind? But having one now I can't imagine that my 10, 11 and 12 year old self saw that baby in the wild and it didn't leave an impression.

Yeah, when mine arrived I was shocked at the size of the box. It's about the size of a toddler's bed.
