PREVIEW: G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #279 — Major Spoilers — Comic Book Reviews, News, Previews, and Podcasts Looks like another really good one. Though, I am pretty sure I know what is going to happen. |

Hey it's the first appearance of a Vapor pilot. That's cool.
Looking forward to this. Why doesn't the Hurricane VTOL get more love?

Excellent art this issue, very classically detailed. Story was decent enough I guess, but seems like I’ve read the basic story several times before. Outnumbered Joes take out scores of planes, etc. with minimal damage to themselves, can’t remember Ghost Rider’s call sign and all ends up peachy. You know, if I was Ghost Rider, I’d be pretty salty after all these years.

I enjoyed the *story* but I would have loved to see Wild Weasel included--perhaps the end wouldn't have been so predictable. A Wild Weasel/Ace dogfight reunion would have been cool. The vehicles were well drawn but otherwise not my style. Fine for a single issue but if Sanchez were the regular artist I doubt I could hang. I'm looking forward to #280 featuring the Baroness...supposedly it will be released on 4/28.

Another great issue!
Fantastic art and really nice use of CG in these panels. This was a great story too. Very OG Special Missions run. Lots of military terminology being thrown around. Remember when Marvel would run 2 Joe comics a month? This issue reminds me of something right out of that late 80s run. Also, I couldnt help but notice that absolutely no female characters were featured here. That is a first. Am I wrong on that? Why couldnt these IDW books have been this solid years ago... Hama is back. Great issue. Check it out any way you can guys. |

Just read this. I enjoyed the story, but for me the art was subpar when it came to characters. The planes and equipment were great, but the actual people were lacking.

Picked it up but didn't read it. Flipped through a few pages. The last team panel at the end looked kinda rough.

...and yes. It was a useless addition.

There’s still a Joe comic?
