no, they aren't. one, Heavy Duty was named in the script a year ago, since which we have gotten numerous Roadblock figures, so they clearly have the name. Hasbro isn't losing names anymore, if they got it back they are keeping hold of them. it is nothing more than a matter of preferring the name Heavy Duty. nothing more, nothing less.

I think the big problem with Snipes playing Stalker (besides the obvious) is that this movie has been saddled with a "hot young" cast. Snipes WOULD be a good Stalker. He looks JUST like him. Problem is that Stalker should be a mature, authoritative figure. So should Duke, but if what I've heard is true, he's now a middle/junior OFFICER instead of a senior enlisted.
I also think m'man has a point about naming a character "Stalker." Sounds a lot more sinister than it did in the early 80's.

I think they Wayans could have been given the role of Sgt. Stalker instead of Ripcord. Other then that I think they have done a great job at making the movie a great movie.
They hit dead on with me. They didnĀ“t mess up SE, SS, Baroness and Scarlet. Hawk, Duke, and Breaker all resemble the Characters. I think Destro once he recieves his mask will look great. Now, to me at least he looks nothing like Duke. Hawk no big deal to me they put a beret on him you take it off he still looks like Hawk, but Duke unless it is a wig and fake goatee that he takes off to reveal a more traditional hair color, then if you showed me that I would say yep that looks like Duke. From the pictures and toy images we have seen of Duke from the movie as a 26 year Joe fan I would have not known who it was if it did not say Duke on the image. Hell it could have been Shipwreck, Breaker, Clutch or any other Joe with facial hair, but not Duke IMO. Sorry for the rant, because even though it doesn't look like it I'm actually getting kind of excited for the movie Last edited by SNAKE EYES; 01-29-2009 at 08:08 PM.. |

Breaker looks like one of the Borg. Big pass on the (range)vipers as well. I am so psyched at the money I'm going to be saving!

Sounds to me like you're making an educated asuumption. You sure seem hot to discredit others' ideas. Sarcasm makes you awesome. Chill out. There are different levels at which a trademark can be applied. For example, DC owns Batman. Warner Brothers owns DC. However, back in the early 90's when Batman Returns was released, they had licensed the name to a specific trading card company. As a result, when DC released their UNIVERSE trading cards, they had NO Batman cards included in the set, which encompassed the ENTIRE DCU because the other company, TOPPS iirc, had the exclusive rights to put Batman on a trading card for the period in question. These things get complicated. Not so clear as one might assume.

You know, when they start killing Joes off during the movie, you'll be happier it was Heavy Duty instead of Roadblock.
